Listen. Everyone. There is, no joke, NO better Springfield-style cashew chicken in the state than here, bar none. Believe me, I've searched. Hard. I'm even a Leong's OG die-hard, but Thai Palace has a secret recipe that if they EVER change it, it will be the death of the best Springfield cashew ever.
Sushi- holy moly, the Chucky Roll? Ugh. To die for. Seriously, it's like you feel guilty for eating something so tasty, like- surely this is, like, killing me somehow, some way? Then you order it again. And again.
The service is amazing, we have literally NEVER had a bad experience here. Nada. So, I bet you're wondering why the 3 stars on atmosphere...?
LET'S TALK ABOUT LIGHTING. Guys. Preface here: I love, love, love everything about you. The renovations are awesome (although I do miss the big bar, but hey), the place is immaculately clean, bathrooms are as perfect as bathrooms get. I drive for nearly 40 minutes every time to just come here, and then drive another 40 back. But please. The cold blue lighting is killing us, and I say this with the most loving demeanor ever.
The current overhead table bulb color temp is somewhere around 6000-6500k, and it would be SO MUCH more inviting and relaxing if you swapped em out for 3500k bulbs. Warm lighting is EVERYTHING to comfort, whereas cold lighting reminds everyone of the office (no), the hospital (oh no), or the dentists (I cry). Mixing bulb color temps in a room also subconsciously adds to the edginess.
I am LITERALLY shoving your beyond-perfect cashew chicken in my face as I type this. How did you get the breading so perfection? Its so good. You're so good. You're my favorite restaurant ever. I feel love in every bite.
Please toss these burning cold blue lights to a nice, low, warm.
Thank you guys...
Read moreI ordered 2 meals to go. We always order the same thing. The last 2 times we picked up the food, it was not made correctly. I ignored it the first time. On that visit, I paid for my food and waited about 20 minutes for it. When I was on my way out, some young guy yelled across the room that I didn't pay for my food. I had to show my receipt to prove to the crowded restaurant that I paid for it. That was unprofessional and embarrassing to me. This time my food was not as ordered. We called back and told them about the mistake. The same guy that yelled at me before tried to blame the mistake on me. Then tried to give us a free order of crab Rangoon or give us the spice to take home to add to our food. The "chef " refused to remake the order. The guy on the phone was rude and made my wife cry on. They offered a discount as if that will make our current order correct. It makes me worry as to what they may do if I go back for the "discount ". I also ordered a sushi roll with extra Wasabi. I can't attach a picture to show how it was given to me. Looks as if it was just tossed into the container. There is a smaller than normal dab of Wasabi. Very poor...
Read moreThese two stars belong to the food. It was very delicious. However, it took over 40 min to get sushi and longer to get our main dishes. I read reviews from months ago and the business responded when someone mentioned the long waits or cold dishes, but obviously they have not improved these. Our wait staff did not seem to operate so much as wait staff but did more take out ordering and payment. All of our drinks were empty and not one of us got a refill the 1.5 hours we were there. I had to take the bill up to the counter and the woman working just stared ay me waiting for me to initiate a conversation when I was literally handing her the ticket and had said I need to pay the bill. Then after repeating she got it. I understand if they were having a rough night but this, according to these reviews seems pretty normal. This would be a fantastic place and would generate more revenue if they turned tables faster. My suggestion is if you really want the food order takeout. Otherwise plan on a...
