My business partner and I were in town for just a few hours. Since he’s Italian that was going to be our lunch pick for the day . We had to find something fairly close to the SF airport so I relied on my fellow Yelpers for some ideas.
The choice was Bolare and it’s only about 15 minute drive to SFO. It was late lunch around 2:30 when we arrived. This little mom n’ pop restaurant is tucked back in a small strip center. There weren’t any other customers there when we arrived. I noticed it’s a clean and orderly restaurant when we walked in. Nice addition was the tv’s tuned to sports over the bar.
We had two cold beers right off the bat. I was impressed with the very cold bottle and just as cold glass. Nice touch. I ordered Caesar salad for an appetizer and he ordered the bruschetta. I really enjoyed my salad. A little pricey but pretty good salad. He liked his bruschetta well.
I had the fettuccine with chicken and he ordered gnocchi. The plates came out and looked good. The food was piping hot as well. I enjoyed my lunch. It was good. Nothing extraordinary or life changing. Not sure but didn’t taste like homemade pasta. The chicken was slightly over cooked and didn’t have a lot of seasonings.
My buddy said he enjoyed the gnocchi but it wasn’t the best he’s ever had.
Overall a good place. A little over priced for...
Read moreDon't order pizza online! I ordered two very different pizzas online but they came out pretty much the same. First of all the platform was terrible. There is no info what each pizza contains so I picked topping I wanted and placed the order. Got there few minutes after order was supposed to be done and they started making the pizzas then. Crust was good compared to most bay area pizzas but that was it. There were a lot of toppings but many of them I didn't ask for. Second pizza was supposed to be all meat (photo attached) and it had olives, arugula, peppers, onions, mushroom and other things we did not want, and NO CHEESE. Clearly their system is too confusing for them to handle....
Read moreA friend and I went for dinner recently and I was in the mood for vegetables as opposed to the usual meat or pasta. I started with the bruschetta, followed by a bowl of minestrone and a Caesar salad. The food was very good and the only reason I did not give 5 stars was because the bread on which the bruschetta was served was very crusty and too dry. The staff were attentive and friendly, especially Eddie who waited on us that evening. Really some of the best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. We topped it off with the tiramisu which was creamy and delicious. We will definitely be going back next time I’m in...
