Read moreFirst of: Is it a good fast food burger? Yes. Is the customer service great? Yes. Does it have cool not so in-crowd secret menu? Yes.
But is it really worth the time and the price?
Let's be honest here. The fries are almost always a miss. Soggy and and the closest thing to tasting like cardboard out of any chain (Understand the secret menu can fix both these but the point ia the fries domt stand on their own). While the burger is good. It doesn't particularly stand out against some of the other peers out there.
I've often heard the argument that its competitive on price and while it's certainly cheaper than those peers, the gap is closing. 22 bucks for a 2x double doubles w/ onion, fries and 2 shakes. For the same price at mcdonalds you can get 40 nuggets, a cheeseburger, a chicken sandwich, drinks and 4 pies.
Then the real kicker: the wait. Over 30 minutes in the drive thru? I've definitely been to faster In-and-outs but considering all of the above, its just not worth it. Unfortunately, because of they way they've routed traffic (to avoid backups on the main road) the parking lot is a bit of a mess if you want to go inside (it tirns out going insider is no faster). If you're a diehard fan or want to try the experience, go for it. Otherwise try...
Read moreDon't have an In-N-Out where I'm from. So I walked in and ordered for the first time as I was visiting fam in the area, this was one of the first eat spots they brought me to... at first I wasn't impressed. I wanted or expected greasy, that's part of burger definition to me... I wanted that wrapper as already translucent from the grease.. I didn't get what I expected. I got judge-y .. this burger is meh.. ok ok.. is ok, taste is aight, naw burger is flavoured well.. actually not bad.. what... is that fresh veggie crunch - onions? tomato stays together?! but there's the.. wait.. the bun... it's not huge and compliments the burger... ok ok, I get it... all ingredients in this burger all fresh (based on my visit).. let's have a french fry.. ohhh kinda bland, where's the salt?! .. even though they're cooked through and through. oh.. salt packet emptied to the side along with pepper... ohh.. I can decide how much I'll contribute to my high blood pressure.
Way to go In-N-Out. Add I got to hang out with fam on this quick visit. I felt like I covered all food groups with my meal. Keep it fresh with the vegs and toppings. It was more welcoming...
