Horrible customer service and it was me watching this happen to someone else in front of me.. i Thing they need better training and the older lady if shes was the owner i feel like she cant be working there with such condescending attitude and honestly i think she is racist against Latinos just with this whole experience im 100% sure she is... This is what happened: " I have never had an issue here it's honestly really good custard ice cream but the lady was pure mean spirited I wanted an extra little mini cup to give a treat to my puppy bcuz he had been a good boy all day and I didn't even ask for it for free I told her to sell it to me yet she said she couldn't do it and I also told her then I would like to buy a mini vanilla which is like $1.99 and she said she couldn't sell it to me... like why? I honestly felt like I had done something wrong take you I was literally buying from them I had purchased 3 other things and also when I asked for a lid she was like for what? I told her my order and she didn't even want to really give a lid I needed a lid because we are walking distance from this place and we had a 4 month old baby in the stroller and we needed to protect our ice cream from bugs... I'm honestly so upset and disappointed never have I been treated like this or been made to feel like my purchase was not...
ย ย ย Read moreLove this place. Although close to my home, I did not try for a few years. A friend told me it's better than the famous custard place from Wisconsin (didnโt believe that). During Covid, Haagen Daz disappointed me with scaling down the butterfat in their recipes, and increasing their prices. Our motto is we want a great product and understand that quality costs a little more. I loved their coffee ice cream but refuse to buy their currently inferior product. Comet has replaced that now. They make wonderful coffee custard! I need to buy 3 pints and hide one in the extra fridge from my husband if I want some.
When Mom came to live with us when she developed dementia, I wanted to bring her as much joy as possible. Comet filled that dream. My Mom could devour their turtle sundae in just a few blocks - she would inhale it before we returned home. Also, Comet has been nice enough to put aside pints of plain coffee custard. I will notice when they are making a coffee โ and just ask if they can reserve for me. Their vanilla and chocolate are Heaven too. They also make a wonderful Butter Brickle (difficult to find these days). Their staff is very courteous...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently visited Comet Frozen Custard in Rolling Meadows, and I must say, it was an experience worth every calorie. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly churned custard is simply irresistible. The staff is friendly, quick, and genuinely passionate about their custard, which you can taste in every spoonful.
The flavors are inventive and delicious, with the classic vanilla and chocolate being absolute perfection. I tried the Oreo Concrete, and it was a revelation โ creamy, rich, and packed with chunks of Oreo goodness. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied but not overwhelmed.
What sets Comet apart is their commitment to quality. Everything is made fresh, and you can tell. The outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying your treat on a warm day, and the cleanliness of the place is commendable.
If you're in Rolling Meadows, do yourself a favor and swing by Comet Frozen Custard. It's not just dessert; it's a delightful experience. Can't wait to go back and try...
