I decided to stop by my friends house, who lives in Rolling Meadows. I am not too familiar with the area and we did a quick Google search for dinner and found Phoenix Flame. The raving reviews and the delicious looking pictures grabbed my attention right away! We stopped inside and were greeted by the kind and warm owner and staff! The atmosphere is very comfortable and modern. I enjoyed the colors and the Greek music being played. We started off with the plantain madura, which is AMAZING! I was shocked by the unique flavors of a carmalized plantain, savory tomato based sauce and salty feta cheese. It was simply perfect and made me so excited for what was to come! We both ordered the ultimate steak sandwich and we got to watch as it was being prepared. There was an open window where you can see inside the kitchen. The kitchen itself is so clean, well organized, labeled properly, Gordon Ramsey would be proud! This made me so confident in the products and clean fresh ingredients we were eating. The ultimate steak sandwich speaks for itself! Soft bun with layers of steak nestled in between a crisped cheese pocket. Yes, you heard that right! A crispy cheese pocket! I personally never had seen that before and am so impressed by the level of creativity at this restaurant! It was layer with aioli and caramelized onions to make it oh so tasty! The housecut fries on the side were the cherry on top! While my friend and I were so stuffed from all this amazing good we had to order dessert! We shared the crème brûlée and chocolate layered cake! Very generous in serving size and so good! I was told by our beautiful and kind server that the tiramisu is made at the table and I must try that next time as well! My whole experience was wonderful! I really enjoyed finding Phoenix Flame and it gives me a reason to visit my friend more! I think this must be the best restaurant in Rolling Meadows. Real food, great people, and great atmosphere, what else could you ask for? Definitely try them out you will be glad you did! Thank you to the owner and to out server for a wonderful experience! I can't...
Read moreOkay so I said I never give five stars because I'm not quite sure what dining experience would warrant a five-star review. tonight I think we've got it, Google will send you down a not so well lit path through Rolling Meadows until you have reached your destination on the left. pulling in it looks like any other Mall and you're wondering where is the Phoenix Flame?well it's low key not so vibrant facade a bit simple compared to some and right about now your questioning your dining experience. upon entering slightly elegant good music and the staff is busy tending to patrons. the kitchen is visible through the window a lot going on in there nothing chaotic almost seemed choreographed. the handful of chefs creating Delicacies soon to be appreciated. simple menu everything complimenting each other in a perfect balance of flavor. plantains and Pico are my new favorite a welcome change from the chips and salsa I'm used to. the Coronas where icy cold with a Twist of lime the Cuban sandwich was Top Notch every ingredient elevated from the bread right down to the pickle and everything in between. across the room I can see steaks being delivered on beds of rustic potatoes and I'm kicking myself for only getting a sandwich. the flavors coming out of that kitchen surely exceeded the expectations of my dining this evening. so used to being seated only to be presented with Bland unsavory interpretations I can't wait to return and take advantage of some of the other outstanding dishes. they also have spirits and wines to accompany any dish. all right so that being said five star food five star service I pulled back a bit on atmosphere my table was a bit tiny and it all reminded me of some of the pop-ups I've been to in the past don't get me wrong excellent food excellent service just lacking a bit of that intimate dining experience hope this review was helpful don't hesitate to visit Phoenix Flame for outstanding food at a moderate price for an evening of flavors enhancing your palate...
Read moreFood is freshly made. You can watch it being prepared in the kitchen through the window. We had the Cuban sandwich, steak and chicken wrap, Brussel sprouts, vanilla ice cream & chocolate cake. The lemonade wasn't over sweetened. The sodas were in bottles poured into our glasses. I really don't like the fountain drinks as when the syrup fades and you end up with blaahh soda. The Cuban sandwich was very good. The ham was thin sliced, and the pork was well seasoned. The bread for the sandwich was soft with a crisp to the outer layer. Firm enough to keep the insides in place. As for the chicken steak wrap, I want able to sample. It disappeared very quickly. I took the picture as soon as it was delivered to the table. The wrap comes with slaw that isn't Mayo based. It has a good flavor . 😋. The Brussel sprouts were seasoned and cooked to an amazing texture. There is a nice char on the sprouts. Not burnt. Some places over cook sprouts, leaving a burnt flavor. This place cooks them just right. The ice cream is creamy. The chocolate cake was thin, layered with the cake layer with crushed walnuts between a smooth chocolate mousse. The outer layer is a firm , smooth chocolate goodness. I have never had a chocolate cake like this before. It wasn't sickly sweet. The wait staff was able to tell us about the ingredients of how the food was made. This knowledge is refreshing. I have been to restaurants where the wait staff say, "It comes out of a box. I don't know the ingredients.". I will return. I will be bringing my friends and family here. We went on a Sunday afternoon. There was one wait person for the floor. We were not in a rush. We were able to spend a relaxing afternoon listening to the music provided in the restaurant and each others company. We try to make at least one meal a week a no phone zone. This place has been open for two months. I would love to try their take on...
