Anna’s Red Apple — Restaurant in Palatine Township

Been here a dozen times since we moved to Palatine 6 months ago because the food is awesome and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Theres a wide variety of good menu choices. "Cherry Heaven" Michigan cherry topped Stuffed French Toast and the Meat Lovers Skillet are just a couple favorites of ours. They are always very busy but they operate like a well-oiled machine. Servers are friendly and on the ball. I like that even though the restaurant is busy, they are respectful and you don't feel pushed out once you finish eating. We always see management out on the floor pitching in during the rush, making sure customers are good, helping out their staff, and greeting/seating arriving guests. More often than not in my experience, there is no management presence unless there is a problem they have to come up front for, so it's really nice to see management who cares. I have been here many times throughout my life and always enjoy the meal… I have never had an issue until Easter Day. I overheard our waiter talking with a different table of friends/regulars and overheard her make a racist comment about one of the other staff members. I was floored and completely lost all confidence and love for this establishment in that moment. However, to dig the hole deeper, I also heard that the higher up staff repeatedly gets on the waitstaff about receiving tips. If a customer chooses to tip their waitstaff, that money is for the staff they tipped and should not be criticized or regulated by the establishment. I truly feel bad for the staff at this restaurant and hope they find better management in their future. I will not be returning to a racist, controlling restaurant that allows and fosters micro...

The service is awful!!!! I'm Uber driver and today I picked up order . I left my car in a place, where was sign “reserved” I understood that this place was only for restaurant employees, but I just needed to pick up the order! it's 1 minute max! as soon as I left my car, a very old man (employee ) came out of the restaurant and started yelling at me, as well as treating me rudely! I didn’t understand his accent, but in order to understand that a person is yelling at you, you don’t need to learn Spanish. I explained to him that I should just pick up the order, it's a couple of seconds, to which he said that he didn't care. and next time I will pay him a $250 fine.
