live just down the street from Lamp Lighters, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite local spots. The food is always excellent—fresh, flavorful, and consistently satisfying no matter what you order. The atmosphere feels friendly and comfortable, like a true neighborhood gem. A special mention goes to Amber, who’s not only incredibly attentive and professional but also genuinely kind and welcoming every time I stop in. She makes the experience even better with her great energy and warm personality. If you’re in Palatine and haven’t been to Lamp Lighters yet, you’re missing out on one of the best local places around!

Old school neighborhood bar and grill. Stopped in to watch the Hawks game. Just a few TVs, this is not a sport bar but they did the trick. Friendly staff and crowd cheap 23 oz special all the time for miller light also a good selection of crafts on tap. Menu is standard pub hub. They have darts and a Lord of Rings pinball machine.

Food has always been good here. The pizza is one of the better options. They have a free pizza buffet on Fridays during happy hour. It can sometimes be challenging to get a drink at the bar when the local Otis's pile in at all hours of the day.

Hey there If you have a chance to visit this place don't dress like the bar tender she will ask you to live and if you don't you will get the worsted service from the bar lady. I don't know if just me but me and my friends got the worsted reaction from the bar lady...I did wait a while to get one over priced German beer and my friend was unsalted when she asked for a napkin. I don't know if the lady behind the bar is the owner or she is doing the owner...but if she is there next time I will be very disappointed. I did mention to her that someone spelled a drink on the floors and a guy almost got hurt. Her response was: I am not going to clean all night after these drunks. An the only reason I am giving one star is because the security guy did clean the floor and come to us and apologize for her behavior. The lady behind the bar if I am not mistaken " Barbara " is not professional.... and she need to learn how to deal with new customers. Not all customers are drunks And please don't drink on the job I just don't think a Liquor Control Commission will be happy to see a bar tender taking shot on the jod..CCTV doesn't lie nor IPhone camera do. The place was not bad after all I like the patio but it is not safe for intoxicated people. The fence on that patio are less then 36 " and that is a no no no when you have intoxicated fox around. Be careful when you go there don't...

Its rare I actually leave a bad review, because I get it, stuff happens, but my wife and I had a really bad experience here. We stopped to get dinner here on Thursday, and it was pretty quiet, 4 or 5 couples inside. It took them 20ish mins to get us menus, we were like okay, the kid seems like hes the only one serving, no big deal. Then to get 2 beers, it was another 10 mins, again fine.

When we finally order its been around 30 mins, we got an appetizer which was good, but then our food took nearly 50 mins to get to us, we got their at around 630, our food got to us around 720, mind you, these were just 2 burgers. But were pretty sure they forgot to put our order in, because while we were waiting they tried bringing us 2 different tables orders....

Anyways the food actually wasn't that bad, I liked my burger, my wife ended up not liking hers but that's cause she didnt like it, not that it wasn't good. I'm not sure if they had an off night or what, but I'm usually really lenient about giving a place 2 trys, but honestly I wouldn't give it another one. For $50+tip it wasn't that great, plus the really slow service.

We didn't try the bar, so this is really only on...

Where do I start.........What a dump this place is!

Worn out paint on the walls, worn out tablecloths, dirty condiment holders, dirty bathrooms (no sign on the Mens door). No hostess or staff in their tired and empty dining area, so we sat ourselves. We had a party of three and they only give two menu's. Their tired dirty menu mentions zero specials or anything about their Friday Fish Fry. Very slow kitchen service unless you order a bowl of soup that the waitress dishes up. They too had a party upstairs, so the food took 25-30 minutes for two burgers and a grilled chicken sandwich that was cold, plus the sandwich's were sloppily put together! Returned the chicken and told it was plated first, so it sat for the burgers to be made. Excuses..excuses we received. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else but this...
