Two Libras Café — Restaurant in Palatine Township

This place is actually the best coffee place ever. I was in town visiting family for the weekend and went here because of a recommendation, and it was SO good. I went here two days in a row! I am that Karen who is super particular about her coffee / food order (for example, I asked them to double check that the salmon was Alaskan salmon and not Atlantic salmon and had specific instructions on how I wanted my latte made). They were so kind and accommodating and the sandwich was to DIE for - I got the croque madame with salmon. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I ate it and I had it two days in a row! I am currently considering moving back to Palatine actually, and after eating at Two Libras I am more convinced that this may be a wise choice. It would cost a lot to drive all the way from downstate every time I wanted to eat here so it would save me money in the long run. We will see. But anyway, eat here because they...

Staff was very kind and calm. Coffee was superb; I had a hot coffee in the morning, went to a show at Cutter theater and came back afterwards for an iced coffee. Delicious both times. Staff said the egg avocado toast was popular - no wonder- it was delicious! Super fresh and flavorful, poached eggs cooked perfectly. Also, a small salad with breakfast? Very European and very delightful. I appreciated that there seemed to be access to outlets all over. It's a little tight in the main seating area but not uncomfortable or crowded. There's a beautiful side room that you don't need to reserve - it has a few tables, nice lighting, and sliding barn doors. Staff said I could close them if I wanted privacy for a call. It was perfect! Only complaint is the tables are a little low, so did not offer the best ergonomics to work for longer periods of time. (And I'm on the shorter...

Absolutely love this place! Two Libras Café is a hidden gem in Palatine. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy, welcoming vibe and the kind of warmth you only get from a locally owned spot. The smoothies were incredible.

I had their smashed avocado, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The vibe is chill, perfect for reading, working, or catching up with friends. They’ve created a space that feels intentional and thoughtful in every detail.

The staff are incredibly friendly and seem to genuinely love being there. You can tell this café is built on passion, not just profit. Palatine needed a spot like this—supporting Two Libras means supporting something truly special in the community. Can’t wait to come back...
