Family Environment as soon as you walk in .. can tell the love they have invested into this place! Husband and I are glad we made this choice to pick up on our way to visit family! Here is what we got and our thoughts: 2meat plate (ribs/brisket) with potato salad & okra - flavor of meat was top notch but wished for little more moisture in brisket cuts. Potato salad was yummy and okra had great seasoning but would of been better fresh(since we took it was less crispy than hoped) Sausage Loaded Potato - PERFECTION!!! Every bit had flavor and sausage was diced to actually eat well on potato. The potato was good size, cooked but not dry or burnt, and good amounts of all add ons. 1/2lb pork - good flavor and moisture was perfect Banana Pudding - WONDERFUL! good serving size, creamy and not too sweet! We also got hot links but those are for my hubby lunch for the week but they smelt amazing! Their sauce is on the sweet side and not thick but very full of flavor! We were on a long drive headed home and stopped here for dinner. It is a great little diner in an old gas station building. They were about to close because they had sold out of everything except 2 pounds of brisket they had left. There were no sides left either. The husband and wife said they could chop the last of their brisket and make us 2 sandwiches. Let me just say... that was the best brisket ever. I hate dry though brisket. This was moist and wonderful. They put so much meat on our sandwiches I couldn't finish mine. I think the took their last 2 pounds and split it between our 2 sandwiches. My husband had extra brisket so they asked if he wanted a flour tortilla to eat it on. Then they brought out pico so he make brisket tacos. They sell brisket tacos there too. Great family. Absolutely some of the best food I have ever had. I am traveling to the area (from OH) and wanted the chance to experience true TX barbecue. I walked in and told the lovely lady at the counter that I wanted a sampler to experience it properly. She followed up with a "say no more" nod. My goodness, did y'all nail it! WOW.
