First-time customer, and extremely disappointed.
We ordered takeout for a birthday dinner celebration, including a 32-ounce yellow curry, spring rolls, and a drink. However, when we got home, we discovered that the curry container was only half full—meaning we received significantly less than what we paid for.
I understand that restaurants sometimes run out of ingredients at the end of the night, but the right thing to do would have been to inform us at the time of pickup, offer an alternative, or adjust the price accordingly. Instead, we were charged full price ($20 for the curry alone) without being told that we were only receiving half of what we ordered. That’s not a mistake—that’s either deception or sheer disregard for customers.
When I called to report the issue, the manager was polite but dismissive, offering a discount on a future order. Fine—I gave them another chance. Three days later, I called back to place another order and mentioned the situation. The staff acknowledged what had happened but excused it by saying they sometimes “run out of vegetables.” We paid for chicken, too—so where was that?
Then came the insulting offer: a mere 15% discount—with an extra 3% if I paid in cash. That’s it? After being charged full price for half a meal? That’s not customer service—that’s just bad business.
To make matters worse, the employee on the phone brought up an unrelated issue—suggesting that because we asked for an unsweetened hibiscus tea instead of the default sweetened version, that somehow made us less deserving of a reasonable resolution. What does that have to do with us being shorted on our meal?
This is not how you treat customers, especially first-time customers who might have become regulars. Instead, we’re taking our business elsewhere, and I’d strongly advise others to do the same.
If you order takeout from here, check your food before you leave—because they certainly won’t tell you if they...
Read moreI’m absolutely disgusted right now. We order so much take out from this place, but before I could even try anything, I opened the box of spring rolls and they were completely black burnt! I didn’t even wait to open anything else and immediately called to speak with someone. The guy who answered the phone couldn’t care less. Saying, “Well I didn’t do it”. I even offered to send him photos, but refused to accept them. His only solution was for me to drive all the way back there (20mins away) and get a refund for spring rolls. I hung up the phone upset, but starving and continued to open the rest of the food for my family. My daughter ordered pad Thai, and it was the strangest thing I’ve ever seen. Nothing like real pad Thai, it tasted like creamy curry noodles with broccoli. There was no peanut sauce or mung beans, lime , nothing like normal pad Thai. I ordered yellow curry, and it was the most blah thing I’ve ever eaten, with barely any sauce or yellow curry flavor. The fresh spring rolls tasted like rotten shrimp, and the peanut sauce tasted burnt. The only thing that was good was the pho broth. But the mung beans were rotten and slimy, the mint was brown and wilted, and the meat looks so strange and unappetizing. Overall I’m completely disgusted with the food, almost all of it went in the garbage. A total waste of $91. The customer service was nonexistent. So many better places to eat. The one 5 star review they have has to be fake. If you want to throw...
Read moreDuring our visit to Florida we stumbled upon a gem for lunch!
I had the opportunity to dine at the Asian Gourmet with business associates, and we still talk about the quaint and cozy experience (months later). Our meals were truly authentic and delicious. Perfectly presented and the staff rivaled a 5-star establishment with service and attentiveness.
During my recent visit, my children and I found the Asian Gourmet Too! Due to scheduling restrictions we were short on time but starving ("fast food" is not an option, due to my daughter's vegetarian palate).
We were welcomed in with a warm greeting and my daughter explained her restrictions. Without hesitation, she was given several options to choose.
I was particularly impressed how fresh our food was (wait less than 10 minutes). My son loved the Thai wings, and daughter enjoyed the crispy tofu just as well. The banana sticky rice and spring rolls will lure me back every time!
Run, don't walk, to the Asian Gourmet Too! You will not be disappointed.
