I was extremely disappointed in doing business with Hong Kong. It would be so much easier if the food was terrible or even mediocre. But the FOOD was DELICIOUS. The sesame chicken was plump juicy PERFECTLY COOKED. Most Chinese restaurants overcook it and its like chewing jerky. With just the right amount of sauce PERFECTLY SEASONED. Same with the tofu. The sauce had just a hint of heat. Most veggie tofus if cooked right tend to take the skin off of your moth because they're too hot.
My disappointment came from their lack of customer service. I got charged for 2 sesame chickens instead of one and didn't see it until after I checked out. When I pointed it out to them...even though I immediately called to correct it...they gave me the excuse that a 3rd party company handles online transactions and they couldn't issue a refund because this 3rd party company wouldn't allow it...they would only allow a credit for future orders. The owner tried to first say that I should have caught it before confirming the order. I tried to explain to her that I didn't order two sesame chickens and that it only showed up after I confirmed the order. She kept repeating herself almost like reading off of a script. That I should have caught it and she could only issue a credit.
First off I've never heard of a situation where a refund couldn't be issued. I also was disappointed with the apathy and arrogance of the employee who answered the phone who said that was company policy and there was nothing they could do. They essentially dismissed me and my complaint. They were rude dismissive and made it plain they could care less that a customer was unhappy because they dropped the ball. The final thing was when they stated that accuracy in online ordering can't be guaranteed and that I should call the restaurant directly to make sure the order is accurate. IF THAT'S THE CASE THEN THEY SHOULD NEVER OFFER THE OPTION TO ORDER ONLINE. They basically BLAMED ME for not being able to guarantee accuracy in online ordering.
I went ahead and let them give me both orders of the sesame chicken. Because I'd already paid for it and a future credit would be unnecessary if I WON'T be ordering from them again. And I WON'T BE. Having an excellent product isn't enough. It's not enough to show you care about your customers. And they clearly don't. You have to be ethical in how you treat your customers when money changes hands for a product and service delivered. The fact that the food was delicious makes it even more disappointing. This type of treatment will eventually destroy...
Read moreI usually get delivery and my only complaint really about delivery is that once you put your order in unless you call you don't hear from them again so you have no idea where the guy is or when he's going to show up... even if you order through GrubHub it's their delivery person that brings it so you can't track the order. That said I went and picked up my food tonight. I have to say I was a little concerned about the actual restaurant. I'm going to assume that people don't eat there because it's very cluttered pretty messy doesn't look super clean But that could be partly due to the age of the building. There was only one table anyone could actually sit at and the delivery guy was sitting there. The food is great though I love their ma po tofu, the lo mein is fresh and the crab Rangoon is delicious. But I will probably stick to getting delivery from now on so I don't have to think about whether or not the place really is dirty or just old and if I'll get food poisoning. My 4 stars is about the food and I cant emphasize enough that the food is very good so i hope I don't end up sick and can keep getting my MaPo ...
Read moreThis is the best Chinese restaurant in Palm Bay and Melbourne. There is no competition. It has the best quality ingredients and you get so much for your money. When we lived in Turkey Creek we ordered once a week. Now we live in eau gallie so we have to really be craving it to drive... that whole way but it's worth it. The garlic shrimp is the best that I ever have had. We love the crab rangoon, fried dumplings, general Tao's Chicken, bourbon chicken, egg foo young, fried rice, seafood delight and pretty much everything that we've tried ....be sure to try the crab rangoon. It seriously is the best that we've ever had...I also like the hibachi. The people who run the restaurant are very nice. It's not a cozy eat in restaurant, they do have tables but it's better as a take out. What they lack in atmosphere the make up with cleanliness. It is one of the cleanest Chinese restaurants...
