The Golden Dates Cafe — Restaurant in Palm Desert

I sent my friend there this morning, Dec. 7, 2022, As she was parked in front of his store, she and I were on the phone talking when the owner arrived and told her to leave and move her car -- to not park there. Yelling it loudly enough for me to hear on the phone. He was so rude. This is a fantastic way to lose customers from word of mouth, or perhaps from reviews such as this one that I am leaving. I do not understand why any business owner would be rude to another person and potential customer of their business. In his culture, it is vital to always be kind and caring -- almost charitable to all people at all times, even if it's simply a smile -- it is a learned attribute in the culture that the owner of Golden Dates somehow missed. Sadly, I will let others know in the vicinity how she was treated. By the way, they also have hummingbirds attracted to their faux plants that go inside seeking substance and get exhausted from this. He doesn't even attempt to help them outside -- he says they will just get tired and leave. OK. He's not a good person...

Nope. Went here at approx. 9:30 a.m. on a recent Sat. They don't open until 10. ugh.......drove around and went back.

Another couple, the two of us, and a woman who looked like a worker sitting at a table were the only people in the place.

Owner, I suppose he was, was in the back walking back and forth from the refrigerator/freezer and looking confused. If you open at 10 and you needed to do prep. work - maybe you should be here at 8 instead of exactly at 10? Just a thought.......

No acknowledgement of anyone out front, no "I'll be right with you," nothing.

No clue how the food is because after 10 minutes of being ignored we left. Good luck with your business! ...

Was visiting Palm Springs from LA and was craving something authentic and homemade. Found this awesome family-run cafe that recently opened. The family is so sweet - their sons are the sweetest. The food was DELISH! Exactly what I needed. We ordered beef kabob meal, chicken shawarma meal, chicken shawarma sandwich, hummus, and eggplant. We also ordered Turkish coffee, arabic coffee, and Iraqi tea. The desserts were amazing and authentic. We came in hungry and left FULL! It was one of the best meals I have had in years. So happy to have found this place and will DEFINITELY...
