Sub King — Restaurant in Palm Desert

Great sandwiches! We loved the Italian one with meatballs, sausage, provolone cheese and green peppers.They have alot of subs to chose from.They just remodeled the shop in August and it looks great. Owners are extremely nice as well. Very fast service too. You won't be disappointed.

8/2024- I am responding to the owners response to my review which I wrote 3 years ago. At the time, the owners there made terrific subs. We were sad when they decided to sell their business. After that, the meat in the subs were never the same. The meatball subs didn't have enough tomato sauce in them, and sometimes the green peppers were not cooked when they used to be. So we decided to stop eating there.

Then one day almost a year later, we ran into Delilah who is an original employee of Sub King (1991) and still works there. She told us that Marcia (who started there not too long after Delilah) had bought the business along with her business partner Alvaro. She told us that they were back to making the subs the way they used to be. We were excited and went to have lunch there. She was right! The subs are terrific and actually better than ever. The meatballs are simmered in alot of sauce and taste terrific. And the green peppers are too good. Simmered to perfection. You won't regret coming here. The subs are well worth the price. We now go there once a week like we used to. And everyone there treats us...

Revising my review from 5 to a 2, use to love this place. Under new ownership, they changed the way they make sandwiches and avocado in my sandwich was black asked for pastrami avocado and bacon with everything and this is all I got. Should not be this color when avocado is fresh.

To respond to your question: I took this pic 20 min after picking up my order, after I got to work for lunch in Palm Springs. I did not bring it up to the staff and did not make it aware of what a nuisance this was as I was not down the street and was on my lunch break. Also I did not just take out my phone to just complain but to make people aware to always check their food as i did not because i trusted the staff to do good the first time. Yes sometimes things can be easily fixed and I would have been able to enjoy it if i were not 20 min away to get another one. It would have been 20 min going back to your place and 20 min going back to work. Total of 40 minutes, time and gas. I was not asking for my money back just letting people aware to be careful. I am sure you do not bite but with your response it felt like you almost did by saying if i just took out my phone to complain, i mean really. I did give you a chance to meet my needs when I placed my order. If I am wrong complaining about black avocado then I am sorry but not good...

So I DoorDashed my delivery and they end up calling me at work saying they didn't reviece my order even though I paid. They tried making me pay for my order again even though I paid Doordash. Then they say I paid for one sandwich and not the other. Which was not my fault and the website issue on Doordash. The lady worker was adamant about me paying that one sandwich that was charged $0.00 because a SYSTEM ERROR that they did. Any other place would just give that sandwich for free for their mistake and inconvenience. Instead she called me at work and kept complianing I can't talk on the phone at work and she made it very difficult. The customer service was bad and I am disappointed that I had to deal with all this even though it was an error on their part. Fix the website or don't...
