Happi China — Restaurant in Palm Harbor

Edit 10-19 just ordered a wing meal. Charged me 6.50 I asked her why, I ordered plain rice. She said, the 5.50 version doesn't come with rice. I've ordered here for over 10 years. Just lost a customer. The young lady lied to my face. I wanted to cancel the order but reviews hopefully go further. I've been lied to twice in under a year. See my below edits.

Edit 05-19 I reviewed Happi China 2 years ago, and how things have changed. The prices have gone up almost 30% within that time. Lunch special used to $4.75. it is now $6.15! I do not know if there are new owners but the quality of the food has gone way down as well. More vegetables, cheap cuts of meat, sloppy all-to-gether. This used to be my go-to. I now skip Happi China all-to-gether. I am so sad. I suggest you ask the price beforehand as I was duped what was on my menu. She charged me Combo Meal price when i asked for Lunch Combo!!!

2017 - I honestly don't want to review Happi China in fears that the prices go up after everyone knows about this hidden gem. It is mines and my wife's favorite take out joint. I do not know what NY style Chinese is but it sucks and this place does NOT serve NY style. Every NY style Chinese restaurant I've gone to serves nothing but vegetables and no flavor. Before I even get to reviewing my food, I just wanted to take a minute and rate the experience about the dining room portion. I felt like I stepped back a year or two into the height of the covid pandemic. And I'm talking not even the height of the pandemic in florida, but rather someplace like San Francisco or New York City. I have to slide my credit card through a small hard plastic window and was given my receipt to sign back and forth. My food was placed in a similar contraption. I'm not making a judgment one way or another, but just pointing it out.

Back to the food. Not much to write. It's basic NYC Chinese food. I got chicken with broccoli with pork fried rice (no veggies). They use brown (as opposed to white sauce). Nothing to write home about. I've had better, but...

I ordered from Happi China for the first time ever this evening. It's a little bit of a ride for me and there are two Chinese restaurants very close by my house. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try and am I'm glad I did. I ordered beef and pea pods which are absolutely delicious! I also ordered beef fried rice also delicious. The vegetables are fresh, the beef is tender and so tasty and the rice is very good. The restaurant is clean. The staff is friendly and accomating and the food is hot. I'm done with all the other local Chinese restaurants. I'll happily take a little drive every time just to eat at this wonderful place that took me 20 years to find. Thank you Happi China! I'll...
