From One Local Favorite to Another: The Fix That Fixed My Coffee Routine
For years, Cane’s Café was my ride-or-die. It wasn’t just a coffee shop, it was a second home. The owner created a place where locals and high schoolers mingled like extras in a feel-good Netflix show. The owners and baristas treated me like family (the good kind, not the ones who borrow money and don’t pay it back). So when Cane’s was sold, I was spritually decaffeinated and totally coffee-homeless and skeptical.
I set out on a mission. Urban Grounds in Tarpon Springs was my first stop. Killer coffee, great vibes, just not practical. I live in Palm Harbor and didn’t feel like logging a road trip for a latte. Eventually, I wandered into The Fix.
Now, in the beginning, I was a little judgy. Not proud of it, but I was carrying some Cane’s baggage and unfairly expecting The Fix to be a clone. Spoiler alert: it’s not, and that turned out to be a good thing. What I found instead was a place with its own soul, and a crew that didn’t just serve coffee, they served connection, in the form of sparkling conversation and with a side of tasty latte art.
Let’s start with the coffee: it’s legit. The menu is straightforward, and every drink I’ve had has been rock-solid. No fluff, no twenty-syllable drink names, just great coffee done right. And as for the staff? Over time, they won me over completely.
Whether it’s Tiffany, McKenzie, or the whole Fix fam - Dalton, Emily, Chris, Nick, Elena - they all bring good energy, sharp wit, and that rare skill of making you feel like a regular even when you still don’t know how to pronounce “cortado” with confidence. McKenzie is a force of nature, running the show, making people feel welcome and taken care of, and holding down the vibe like a boss. Her boyfriend Ali is the guy you didn’t know you needed to talk to about air fryers, Trader Joe’s hacks, and the holy grail of smash burgers. (Seriously! Ask them. They’ve got intel.)
Now let’s talk evolution from beans to booze: The Fix has added beer, wine, and a small-but-epic tapas-style menu Wednesday through Saturday, 5 to 9 PM. Table-side service, cozy ambiance, great music, free wi-fi, and yes, you can bring your dog. I don’t even own a dog, but I now know more local canines than I do humans. Shoutout to Tillie!
So yeah, Cane’s will always hold a special place in my heart, but The Fix has earned its own chapter. It’s my go-to grind spot and my weekend unwind spot. Different flavor, same heart. If you're looking for a place that makes killer coffee, lets you be yourself, and remembers your name without asking you to spell it three times, this is the place.
Thank you to everyone at The Fix. You’ve built something real, something warm, and something weirdly addicting. And I mean that in the best, most highly-caffeinated way possible (let's go for six next time...

A TRUE CRAFT COFFEE ☕ SHOP WITH A SMILE. I stumbled upon this little gem of a coffee shop today. I stopped in and was greeted with a warm hello from the barista. This place decor is so sleek with high quality furnishing and finishes. I love the clean modern look. The ambiance was great, and friendly. And the music was fantástic. COFFEE: ordered the Cortado and it was soo fricking good. Well done! FOOD: Didn't get a chance to try anything REMOTE WORKERS: this place would be great on a day you do not have to be on only meetings. Unless you want to take them on the outside patio. Electrical outlets. Normal amount unless you are the bar area. This area has usb and reg outlets. OUTDOOR SEATING: It's a covered porch setting. High top tables and seating. PARKING: Free parking lot in the back of the building. Not to be confused with the building with the parking lot next to it. What a great addition to the area. As a remote worker, I can't wait to make this my go to during the week. Only con is that closes at 3pm...so as a remote worker I can't work a full day here. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 5 THUMBS UP...
Read moreThe Fix one day could be an interesting stop on the way to Tarpon. I walked into the Fix coffee house the middle of August and it was my first time. I am a world traveler and honestly I would rather save my (FIX) of $5.00 bucks a shot. Do the math. I mean it is good coffee with nice atmosphere, but I would rather save my Fix and go to Italy. And drink the real deal at St. Mark's Square with tons of ambiance for half the price. In Italy, you get a very relaxed vibe for great espresso at $2.50 per 8oz. So, if your pulling in twice per week at $5.00 bucks a pop, that is a plane ride to St. Marks Square in Italy! I would rather get on Virgin Atlantic and fly to Rome and drink my latte with a view! The service was very slow as I was on my way to work while a bunch of guys sitting at the coffee bar that looked mostly mature in age, and one guy that looked to be in his early 30s sitting at the coffee bar. All of them probably wishing they could figure out not to go to the Fix so that they have the extra cash to take their wives out! At the end of the day, coffee should not have to come with this high...
