Finally, for those with a sweet tooth, you have to remember this amazing dessert Ozona Pig offers. It is called "Death to the Diet" brownie dessert—a decadent finale to a memorable meal. This dessert is an indulgent masterpiece, featuring a warm, fudgy brownie topped with a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream and drizzled with rich chocolate sauce. The contrast between the warm brownie and cold ice cream creates a delightful juxtaposition of temperatures, while the combination of chocolatey goodness satisfies every craving. It's a dessert that not only lives up to its name but exceeds expectations, providing the perfect conclusion to a barbecue feast at Ozona Pig.
The only issue we had happened to be the service. While our waitress was friendly she missed the target for service. We ordered a Dixie Salsa and chips for our starter and it was completely forgotten. She never came by to offer refills or to go cups for our drinks. Again she was very friendly but needed to pay more attention to task at hand.
Over all we enjoyed our visit and look to...
Read moreThe Ozona Pig serves some of the best barbecue I have eaten in a long time. Morgan, our server, was extremely helpful answering questions, explaining menu options and making meal recommendations. The Boss Hogg combo featured ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, half a chicken, garlic bread, Cole slaw, baked beans and a deviled egg. The menu states the Boss Hogg can feed two people but the four people in our party ate from the platter and there was still enough food left to fill a take-home box. Miss Morgan informed us their chicken wings are first smoked and then deep-fried to give the skin a crispy texture. Wings can be served covered with "Sweet and Spicy" or "Hot and Spicy" sauce but Morgan recommended we order the Naked Wings (served without sauce) so we could sample the restaurant's different sauces. The "Sweet and Spicy" and "Golden Mustard" sauce was our two favorite but the "Original" and "Hot and Spicy" sauce were also flavorful. The beef brisket sandwich was tender and tasty and the house salad was good-sized and was served with real Blue cheese dressing. We ordered a side of French fries which was served in a basket large enough to be shared with everyone in our party. We were told their deserts are home-made but we were all to full to try one. If you in or around the area, I highly recommend you try...
Read moreMy friend Dan who was a co-owner of the seaside artizan Dan and Suzie and I always go to Ozona pig when we want good barbecue. Not just Southern barbecue but any barbecue. The southern nature of it just makes it that much better for me since I spent so much time in Greenville and Spartanburg South Carolina we had some of the greatest barbecue places around and the Ozona pig meets or exceeds the standards that I'm used to. usually a place that specializes in one kind of thing like pizza or Chinese food etc. etc. are immune from the need to do lots of innovative specials every week but I am offering up this challenge anyways to all the restaurants that I have reviewed in the Dunedin area. Here it is: NEW: I am issuing a crossthearea notice that there are so many really innovative and what I like to call gourmet grunge Recipes like the ones you see on the gourmet cooking shows and things don’t seem to change very often at many of our local restaurants so I am asking that chefs do specials quite often with really innovative or gourmet grunge items. I’m gonna have my own rating system from now on we’re at the beginning of every review I’m going to say whether I’m bored with this place and they’ll be three degrees of this. Bored, relatively excited, and exciting...
