Charlie’s Happy Corn — Restaurant in Palm Springs

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years. But I gave it 4 stars because there are a few bad things I need to point out. I will lay out it’s pros and cons

Cons The place is always dirty when I go there. Every time I call to put in an order, they put me on hold. It gets over crowded which I personally dong mind because I always order take out. However, I know some people would like to sit down to eat. I strongly recommend ordering ahead of time. Especially on the weekends or you’ll be waiting for a good while for your order. The employees hardly speak any English. I’m fluent in Spanish, so that’s not a problem for me. I’m aware taht their clientele is 9/10 Spanish speakers.

Pros Their mangonadas are the best! Their pepinos locos are the best! Everything there is great! As I previously mentioned, as long as you order ahead of time, you will get your order on time. Your order is also prepared fresh, right in front of you. Also, their products come in a nice big size. Which they can be a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. The atmosphere is also lively.

Also, I’d like to point out that the last time I went there. They got my order wrong. I love their raspadito de horchata, so I specifically came there for that aside from ordering a few other things. I ordered ahead of time and went over it with the lady who answered me to make sure she got it all right. When I came to pick it up. I got a agua de horchata instead. I told one of the ladies there that I ordered the raspadito not the agua. However she kept insisting that I didn’t order a raspadito. Mind you, I even went over my entire order again with the cashier before paying. So I asked if she can just change for a raspadito but she refused. I was very disappointed as I was craving the raspadito. I left it like that as I didn’t see the manager/owner nor did I want to cause...

I like Charlie’s Happy Corn, it is one of my favorite places to go too. The food is good. The guy in the front is always nice. The only complaint I would have is every time I go the tables are always extremely dirty. The paper towels dispenser is always out of paper which sucks too so it’s not like you can clean the tables yourself. The floors look like it’s never been cleaned. Otherwise, I would say the quality of the food is good, just minor things like cleanliness makes a big difference. I still give Charlie’s a 4 though because of the food.

2/5 This is an updated review to my previous review. I’m super upset. Today I placed a decent order paid about $60 for my items. Ordered nachos, pepinos locos, and mangonadas. The pic is how I received the nachos….. where is the cheese??? The pepinos locos the chamoy was watery it was nasty not worth eating and then the mangonada barley had anything in it. I don’t know if it was just a bad day or they were just too busy and couldn’t keep up but this is by far very disappointing. Then parking is so terrible now. I won’t be back for a while. Truly...

I went in and ordered 4 ice creams 1 fruit cup and 1 cholada. The fruit cup was messy and it had mango, watermelon and pineapple. The mango taste like onions, very very strongly and the watermelon was flavorless. The cholada was super messy with the wrong ice cream and while eating it found a piece of cheese in it. The way the lady at the register spoke to me was very rude (acting like I'm an idiot for not knowing that you dont pick the ice cream flavor until they call you for your order, she could have told me in a way nicer tone and without rolling her eyes like 3 times) The owners brother served the ice cream, he was very kind and very good at following the instructions of the ice cream but in all honestly other than him everything else was a disaster. I really recommend you don't hire people that dont know the importance of customer service for your business to keep its good appearance and also keep the vegetables away from fruit.
