Will never eat here again. Paid $25 for a small amount of food. I put an order in for pick up and when we went to pick it up they had no idea what we were talking about. We ordered a small queso and the number 5. Well apparently a big goob of cheeses what passes for a queso. Not melted at all. The menu says the number five is a flauta, big nachos, burrito, rice and beans. When we got it home the “ big nachos” was a tostada with beans, sour cream, and guacamole. They gave us salsa but no chips.... maybe I’m weird but I normally eat chips with salsa. I called the restaurant back thinking I clearly got the wrong order. The lady on the phone explained that nachos there are as she put it “ a tostada with beans, sour cream, and guacamole “. If your going to serve people tostadas then that is what you put on your menu. Not Nachos. Then I said ok well we didn’t get chips with our salsa. Then she says ya chips aren’t free. Ok well that’s fine but you don’t give people salsa and no chips. They never offered me chips whereas If they just would’ve told me I would have paid for them. Instead of understanding my position she continued to talk over me and repeatedly say “ chips aren’t free”. I will never go back. Poor quality for the prices and POOR Customer service. Palm Springs has a lot of great restaurants with similar prices I’ll take me and my...
Read moreEl Taco Asado is my fav Mexican food in the valley. Unpretentious for sure, the place looks closed from the outside other than the number of patrons stopping in for a table or picking up an order. Easy parking and delicious food. Large portions. I find the food here to be Jalisco style Mexican cooking like you find in and around Puerto Vallarta. And prices are extremely fair for the quality of the food served.
If you are a fan of chilaquiles you have entered heaven! Cant speak for the verde sauce but the red is tops! I also like to add grilled chicken to mine for a modest upcharge. Rice and beans are included. Chips and salsa served complimentary as soon as you are seated.
Be prepared that Taco Asado is very busy at lunch. Many use takeout as the dining area is frequently completely full. That tells you what great food is there along with the number of Hispanic customers who like to eat authentic Mexican food over the many places with Tex-Mex.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are offered. They also are a family owned business with another location called Tlaquepaque on S. Palm Canyon in downtown Palm Springs. Both are tops in...
Read more(2023.0201) Great food. Fair prices and semi-adequate portions (for the average person or unless your very hungry) although as cheap as rice and beans are, they could definitely give bigger portions. The restaurant atmosphere is OK, it's a small dining area. 4 people at a table can feel cramped with larger sized people. Sad, that the iced tea and fountain sodas don't have free refills when they were charging $3.25. They seem a bit cheap on the complimentary chips and salsa giving a single basket of chips and a small bowl of salsa for 4 customers to share. The ice water was without any strange or bad aftertastes. Water is all I need with my meal.
The service was very competent and polite. The food came fast, fresh and hot with no mistakes.
It's odd and a bit dangerous that you have to squeeze and snake through their kitchen area to get to the restrooms at the back of the restaurant where they also have an additional seating area. The men's restroom (I can't speak for the woman's restroom) was clean, but the trash can was overflowing with used...
