So we decided to try this place tonight and dont think we will be back, honestly. I did look at the reviews before buying and was aware of some things. One comment I saw was that the General Tso Chicken was mainly breading and hardly any chicken. I can confirm that this is correct. Also, it's very overdone. I like mine soft and not hard to chew. Spice level was great. The pork fried rice. Tasted burnt, maybe it's the oil? Maybe it was because we did order 45 mins before they closed?? I'm not sure, but I was not a fan. My partner got some type of beef, and when opening it, hardly any beef in it, mainly veggies. He did say it was seasonined well and tastes great. He just wishes it had more beef. I will say, the crab ragoons were 10/10!! Super delicious! We devoured them instantly. The egg roll was gross. Tasted burnt as well, which makes me think it's the oil and it's not being changed often. Sadly, I threw about my general Tsos as I couldn't get past how hard it was to chew and the lack of meat. It's sad, it's very hard to find decent chinese restaurants down here. New Jersey has some of the best restaurants, and I wish it was the same down here! Sadly, it's not.
I will say, with us ordering 45 mins before they closed, our food was hot, and the guy up front was super cool! Very respectful!! So our service was amazing, it's just the food. I hope the owner is looking at these reviews and, hopefully, is trying the food and making changes as needed. Definitely check out what's going on with the rice. It tastes burnt, and it shouldn't taste like that. General Tsos chicken, please add less breading and more chicken and dont overcook it!
Sadly, we will not be back. Maybe we will try again in a year or so to see if any changes have happened, but we shall see. We will be going back to Hot Wok as I never had any issues with them. Just a further drive, but we'll worth it!
My review is 3 stars because it definitely has potential for change. I say try other items and see how you like it. My review is not here to deter you from this business. But this is...
Read more(October 2022) We have been going to Joy Luck for almost ten years, and are glad to say that they are still the BEST choice in the Palm Springs area for great Chinese food! We have hardly ever been disappointed with any of the meals we have ordered. We usually get a handful of different combination dinners with each order, and they are always hot, the portions just the right amount, and the taste is still very satisfying!
Joy Luck is centrally located in a good shopping center on Congress Ave, and there is never a problem parking to pick up our order. And the orders are always prepared and ready in a relatively fast time. You can also dine in. The owners are nice people and are always friendly.
Joy Luck remains our #1 and ONLY choice in the Palm Springs & Lake Worth area for the BEST Chinese food! Thanks for being here! 👍👍❤️
(November 2021) Joy Luck in Palm Springs is STILL our #1 choice for the BEST Chinese take-out food in the area! 🥰👍🏻👍🏻
(Sept 2019) Just want to add, we have checked out a couple other Chinese food places in the Palm Springs / Lake Worth area, but we STILL prefer Joy Luck as the BEST place for GREAT Chinese food! Keep up the GREAT food and service Joy Luck! 👍👍
GREAT place for GREAT Chinese food! We have been ordering with Joy Luck for a handful of years and really like it. The owner is a nice guy and we are always treated in a very friendly manner. Definitely RECOMMEND...
Read moreWe ordered take out and I realize it’s hard to find good authentic Asian cuisine in south Florida but regardless we ordered take out for 112 dollars for our family of three and that has to be one of the worst meals I have ever eaten we threw away the majority of the food. The fried rice is extremely dark which is uncommon so I had faith it would be good most fried rice here seems to be white rice with egg cooked into it but it has no flavor at all completely bland. The eggrolls are fried filled with cabbage and vegetables and have no seasoning at all very unappealing. The general Taos chicken tastes like your eating candy coated chicken way too sweet and no salt or spice. Basically sweet and sour chicken without the sour just straight sweet with a congealed coating over the chicken The lo mein was probably the worst the beef tastes off barely any seasoning the vegetables taste off literally Terrible I would never order this again
Lastly, the fried wontons says they are filled with a special filling check picture 3 for the filling the worst wonton I have ever eaten yall can do better 100% cream cheese a crab Rangoon anything other than that those are terrible
I promise you you are making a mistake eating here for the money unless you are part of the soflo retirement community that has an aversion to seasoning much better...
