Del Taco — Restaurant in Palmdale

Love the food and DID love the staff ON ave N & 50th ... On my most Recent visit they had a gal at the window...I pulled through on my way to work..a simple order, something I had ordered just 2 days earlier.. She asked for my order..3 items: Med Fries (fresh please), a small side cup of chili and an Iced Tea!" That's it.. she asked me to repeat it, um, ok..I repeated..she said "we don't have that." Huh?? I repeated the small chili..she said again "we don't have that".. I asked if they were out or just hadn't made it yet..she repeats again..I asked when they'd have it.."we don't do that".. I said, Actually you do and it's $.70 cents.. her snotty reply was "don't yell at me", clearly an odd response as I said "HUH?! I'm not yelling at you I just need my food so I can get to work".. she stopped taking my order. I drove to the window to attempt to get a Mgr.. the girl ignored me.. I sat there nearly 5 minutes. Totally ignored.. If we didn't give THIS LOCATION tons of business from my family I would've driven off and boycotted them...BUT we go there multiple times weekly so I parked my car and went in to speak to a Mgr and to GET MY FOOD.. This same girl saw me, left me standing at the counter and ignored me..I stood there 10 minutes. FINALLY another staff member said "someone will be right with you". I was embarrassed for her because she could see what the rude gal was doing but she clearly didn't run the counter. FINALLY the Mgr came to the back..she had been sitting at a table in the dining area.. she appeared to ignore the whole thing. I immediately told her what the girl had done. I asked " do you have a small side of chili for $.70"..yes, she replied.. I said "you might want to tell this girl who seemed to think I was yelling at her before she totally ignored me! Is she new???" A very quiet apology from the Mgr.. it was as if she was intimidated by this girl.. she said she would speak to her but here's My Question: how many people has this "employee " Sent away, never to return?? How MUCH revenue is Lost because this girl was dismissive to a Customer. I didn't yell, I didn't raise my voice... I gather the girl had no idea and rather then nicely say "let me check on that" she chose to chastise me & send me away! Now THAT made me mad..and why? Because I've been a Mystery Shopper for over 20 years and THAT would be an Immediate write up with every detail and word she Said and didn't say!! Time, Date, Name, ignoring a Customer.... She had Zero Customer Service skills and apparently no desire to learn. They were NOT busy at all..2 in the kitchen, her on the drive thru & Counter and the Mgr on duty.. watching or simply ignoring it all. She sat at the table and watched the girl ignore me for the full 10 minutes..She only came back to the kitchen when the rude employee needed change...and even still the Mgr left me at the counter until another customer walked in. I'll be contacting their Corporate office and speaking to a District or/and Regional Mgr. Some things you just let go but thos...

Food is made well, employees are nice. Restaurant needs a remodel, especially the restrooms. I wish I had taken pictures but this place needs to be closed, gutted and equipped with new everything and I don't mean because of sanitation but because it's old and falling apart. Take care of your business whomever owns this location, it's hard to go somewhere that is being neglected for repairs.

For a meal I got a kid's meal for my daughter, some street tacos and a chicken wrap for myself. The tacos were just amazing, my daughter ate her meal and ended up snagging one from me and she loved the tacos too. The wrap was good plenty of chicken and lettuce, just the right amount of sauces. Everything was packaged well and we didn't have to wait forever for our meals. Soda machine was out of Dr pepper and the staff near by heard me say it was out and went to replace it quickly before I could even ask. I waited for them to do what they had to do and a short time later I got to enjoy a nice refreshing drink from a properly cleaned machine. The staff here definitely deserves praise because they are well trained and delightful. The physical location is dragging the whole experience down because it needs...

Update: 5-13-24 managers comment is nothing more than lip service. After informing Del Taco I would "dispute" my credit card charge..they sent me a $10 coupon...2 weeks later I went into this Del Taco...and nothing had changed...the food was still cold (warning sign is when it takes 15 minutes to get your order...it means the cook is unqualified or under trained) Rat food has never came to mind at any fast food restaurant...it did come to mind at this one. Cook must be owners (managers) son or smoking buddy...? Update 5-5-24 We quit going to Del Taco because the food was so bad at this location...But the one in Palmdale, and on Ave L & 30th West tasted great....although it is a few extra miles for us to go to the other locations it is worth it. The warning sign for this Del Taco is that it takes 15 appx to get your order, and by then the food is cold (which mine was) and that is a health hazard. BEWARE !!! Worst burger ever. Buns were stale, and dry. Little or no burger sauce, or bacon, and they were cold. Root Beer was all carbonation, and no syrup. Cook does not seem to care, it took forever to get make the order 10/29/23 (6:59 PM) order #67 (20057 ?)...
