Claude's Creamery — Restaurant in Palmerton

Claude's creamery is the best ice cream place I have ever been too. I am lactose intolerant and I love ice cream So as you can Imagine, i'm only going to have gas and blow up my toilet for the rest of the day if it's totally worth it. Well At Claude's it is! They have the best flavors from the classic hits, like chocolate mint, cookie dough, etc, to things I never even heard of or thought off. it's like walking into a ice cream candy land. This place also has a lot of room for in ice cream place . Plenty of room to sit down, inside or outside with their new outside eating area! The hot dogs they have are so good that sometimes I go just for that, they are cooked perfect and rival some of the best dogs anywhere. All in all this place is so much fun, even at my age I still look for ward to going to ice cream places such as this. I always see young kids and families having great time in here. The staff is quick and friendly despite being busy with everyone wanting to go here. This Is a gem of the town. You would more likely to see this place in a big city or some metropolis. We are so lucky to have Claude's right here in town. I think I'll walk stroll down on this beautiful right now and enjoy...

Since they renovated their space (taking over more property and knocking it down and creating a nice outside dining patio area), and added in more food options (the franks/sausages - and hopefully they'll consider one or two other food type options to give it a teeny bit more variety), it's been a nice option to pop in to whenever I have enough free time passing through the general area. It's a bit on the pricey side for ice cream (of course a lot of companies overcharge for ice cream, even in the stores quite a bit, but yet the markets have reasonable sales in them once in a great while). Now if they could only get the groups running the D&L trail to consider installing a small bridge over narrow spot in the river to get access to Palmerton near the highway interchange, so all the Bikers/Hikers can get there much easier. It's a bit of haul when I'm biking to have to go all the way up to Bowmanstown, cut across the highway bridge, and backtrack up and down a couple of steep hills. Just so I can occasionally treat and reward myself for a long bike ride and half a job...

It was a rainy day and we purchased ice-cream cones for the kids and ourselves. In addition, my mother purchased milkshakes to go for her husband and handicap daughter. She was given a paper try to hold the milkshakes. Because, of the rain the paper holder became weak and while walking only from their store to their parking lot the holder fell apart upon entry of our vehicle! Now, we have two milkshakes spilled on my mother, her leather seats, console and floor! Frustrated, annoyed and while sitting in the quickly cleaned-up smeared sticky mess we later called the store and explained our experience to a manager. The manager said that if it was "something that they did they would refund our money". I explained twice, that I did NOT want a refund but only a credit for the two shakes...The manager refused twice and I was given a credit for one milkshake. Very disappointed in their service! Word of caution don't use their paper holders...
