Joe's Place — Restaurant in Palmerton

Decided to stop after a day at blue mountain downhill biking. Outside appearance looked inviting enough to stop in and grab their "Philadelphia Experience" cheese steak special. The person taking the order seemed a bit annoyed taking the order sort of rushing my wife and I. Food prep was quick but personally comparing to Philadelphia where I reside the presentation was below average at best and sort of pricy. The tray once arrived to the table 4 feet away carried a long brown hair intertwined under my cheesesteak. Definitely a downer. Now the food was tasteless but if I had to describe it was like biting into hot grease along with plastic tasting cheese. The onion rings were a total disappointment being one of my favorite sides. The jumbo soda was really a jumbo cup of ice with 4oz of actual beverage. The kids behind the counter are just that kids but the person who rang me up was nice and after all that we still left a dollar tip...

All in all look elsewhere unless you...

Could be much, much better if they made the cheese steak a little differently. Meat is good, bread is good but all the cheese for two cheese steaks was at the very bottom of the bread in the crease so the steak was dry. The cheese of course should be mixed thru the steak. Also, the amount of cheese was a bit skimpy. In addition, my wife ordered hers with onions and it came out without onions. (Not like it was busy, we were the only ones there.) I might consider coming back but would need to specify how I want the cheese steak...

Very disappointed....this was our favorite twice a month go to. First I ordered Jumbo fries and onion rings....told they only had large...so ordered larges.. They came in a small 12oz cup thats not a large....the onion rings were onion petals we did not like and was not told they changed them. The jumbo cheesesteak was ordered with extra cheese well they did not...it was minimal...the cheesseburger sub always had 4 patties this time was only 3 we are hanging this place up! Just not the...
