Nothing against the food. Mainly service that really made this first experience very unpleasant. Not having a reservation we knew that we had to wait so we waited 45 mins for a table on a Monday night. The host sat us down at this corner table outside of the tent and it was pretty cold. Sitting down there were no plates set up or any utensils. Only one glass cup was there and we sat at the table with no service for a good 10 minutes. With being said waited for 45 minutes, the bare minimum is to come greet us and offer water. Unfortunately the servers were not attentive to do so. After the server had finally realized we were seated, when asked about the menu, he did not give any brief explanation of the food. First time dinning with them, it was difficult to understand the menu without any clear explanation. We decided to order a pizza , pasta and an appetizer. After asking for plates and water, plates that were brought upon us were not clean. We decided to go to the host station to see if we can be switched to somewhere that had more attentive service. The general manager ended up seating us in the back patio. Just when I had thought everything was already resolved, the general manager decided to come up to us and question why we had said there was no service at all. This is obviously a miscommunication between us and clearly we did not get the service as we should. I understand that they are a busy restaurant but being said that it not how you talk to a customer. His attitude was not only very rude but also disrespectful. He came up to our table to confront us about the situation. Disregarding the fact that the servers were inattentive. We ended up getting the appetizer for free but this is not resolved. Both of us deserve an apology at the very least and we didn’t wait 45 minutes to get this kind of service. I don’t appreciate this kind of attitude and this will be my first and last visit to...
Read moreFood: I had the terun pizza and my date had the squid ink pasta. I also had the white sangria. The pasta was actually really good, not too salty with a generous portion of seafood. The pizza was alright. I think the dough was a bit thick and got real soggy real fast. As far as good true Italian pizza good, it's middle of the pack in comparison to the other options in the south bay/peninsula. We had the panna cotta fit dessert which was also good. lots of fruit and well made panna cotta. 4/5
Service: we had reservations and were promptly seated in the back corner of the patio area. It took a long time for the waiter to show up, no real friendly demeanor after I asked him how his night was going. We ordered an appetizer that never came (which the waiter was surprised at as he was cleaning up our dishes from our mains). I had 4 total interactions with him throughout the night. Order food, flagged him down to get bread (which took a long time), dish clearing, and the check. The people delivering food couldn't have been nicer though. I also had a note in the reservation about celebrating my dates birthday, and while I didn't ask or expect dessert or anything. For a nice place in PA, I kind of expected a comment or question about it. But the score was based more on the lack of good service. 2/5
I give this place 3/5 because the food was good enough to consider going here again to give it a second chance, but I would not volunteer this place as an option if asked for where to eat...
Read moreIt was my first time at Terun, and it definitely won't be my last. I'll be going back to try every item on the menu.
Parking: Easy. Plenty of street parking and (free) parking structure closeby.
Ambiance: Great. Indoors is beautiful (love the wallpaper). Outdoors is nice too (request seating in the back outdoor space rather than the front.)
Food: Fantastic. Went with the famous gnocchi, as well as the Terun pizza, and a schiacciata topped with proscuitto and burrata. The schiacciata was heavenly. It's been 24 hours, and we haven't stopped talking about it. We don't plan on stopping talking about it. We also got to try their caramel gelato topped with olive oil and sea salt. What genius thought of this? Brilliance. I don't know which olive oil Terun uses, but it has such a rich yet smooth taste. It elevates everything.
Service: Phenomenal. I can't understand the negative reviews regarding the service at this restaurant. We arrived a bit earlier than our reserved time, but we were greeted kindly b the host and shown to a table of our choice. Many restaurants make us wait if we show up early; Terun was ready. Our lovely server was Damla, and she was delightful. She had great suggestions, her demeanor was bright and welcoming, but not overbearing or forced. She and other service staff really tended to us well without intruding on our meal.
Thank you, Terun, for such a pleasant experience. See...
