El Chaparro Mexican food — Restaurant in Palos Township

Have gotten takeout from here multiple times and was never disappointed. Always extremely fresh and perfectly seasoned. From tacos, to burritos to tostadas, tried in many different meats. Have weekly company lunches so recommended we get it from here. Ordered a rather large catering order that went so well had to leave this review (250+ tacos alone, chicken, steak, carnitas and shrimp, plus chicken fajitas, birria etc...) among other sides and toppings. Everything came as fresh as expected from them, everything included as ordered, and on time. Ordered on Tuesday afternoon for Thursday noon, arrived 5 minutes early and they were all ready to help me load everything into my car. Highly recommended for a takeout meal or catering. Everytime my family orders from here the order comes wrong. It's getting ridiculous that I can't even get an order the way I ask for it. We order steak and get pork, which I can't eat. We order no tomato no onion, it gets ignored or they put a ton of cilantro. If someone is ordering a food item without stuff there could be an allergy and this place just doesn't care. We love supporting mom and pop places but after all these terrible experiences we will not be able to order from here anymore. If you care about your family you won't order from here either. I will be taking my business elsewhere...

Upon placing my order I was astonished to see they had a different (more valued) item. I approached the counter to let my waitress know that I’d like to replace my original order. Instead I was told I had to purchase MORE of the higher valued item if I wanted to replace my order. Once it was received, my food wasn’t appetizing or well presented. In addition, the waitress never checked back. Paid & wont return. Get off your phone & work....
