Xando Cafe — Restaurant in Palos Township

🛑🙅🏼‍♀️❌🚫 Unfortunately I must give a very bad review to this establishment. If you know how long I've been rating; you know I really do not like to give ANY bad reviews. But from the minute we arrived, the server assigned to my table was abruptly rude, extremely late to take our order; and racist. She never once checked on my table. I was there w/my boyfriend and she never once acknowledged our table. It was as if we were inconveniently eating there, bothering her. I was dumbfounded by how she intentionally tried to ignored us 👥 Even when we were waiting for her to take our order for over 30 min! 🤯The entire place was not busy at all, it was a reasonable amount of customers and yet we were treated as if we were not even there. If you do decide to eat in, please make note of the above mentioned points. It is my hope to ensure that they be aware of this very important courtesy to the customer, which comes a long way. The establishment needs to train their staff more inbebt when it comes to customer service. Very bad for service🤦🏼‍♀️ especially when the server is the main point of contact when it comes to long time customers. Came here for lunch with my sisters and nephews and had a wonderful time. I used to come here in my early 20s with my girlfriends and both of my sisters so it's always been a nostalgia spot, but the place has really maintained their impeccable ambiance and most importantly, their menu. I had the Xando chicken with Greek fries and it was delicious. My sisters both ordered the Greek salad with chicken. The ingredients are always fresh and the portions are always generous. Our waitress today was Zoey and we have nothing but great things to say about her! Super friendly and paid attention to details. She checked on us several times and made sure everything was done to our specifications. She has a wonderful attitude and bright smile. We could tell she takes her job seriously which isn't to be taken for granted in the service industry anymore. Thank you Zoey for making sure our experience was a great one and l'll be sure to ask for you next time we come in! Three times is enough.. On the third visit, a Friday afternoon 7/15/22 at 4:21 I sat down outside. At 4:24 a gentleman cleaning tables asked if I needed a menu.. at 4:31 I walked away. I've never in my life sat down at a restaurant and waited 10 minutes before a server came over to check to see if I was OK or take my order. Not due to being busy either, there were maybe 5 other customers in the restaurant. There was a lack of desire to serve me... even after I made eye contact with two servers - nothing. I know where I'm not wanted.

The time before this, I had a server who wasn't as friendly to me as I observed she was with other tables. There were a group of older men about 30ft away making openly racist remarks to which another customer nearby had to come over and apologize for their behavior.
