So, I grew up in Oak Lawn and my Family has resided here for more than 50 years. During that time we've frequented most of the restaurants in the area, one of the staples being The Patio in Bridgeview. In fact, we have patronized their establishment since it opened on the east side of Harlem Ave. There so often that the old man running it back in the day would pull my Mother aside and always have a lengthy conversation with her, we knew the cooks because she had worked with one of them at another restaurant, etc. Over the years we've continued to support this business loyally and yesterday (Mother's Day) was my FINAL visit. More recently their food has been sub par at times (ribs aren't as good, burgers ALWAYS way over cooked, and the customer service has been less than pleasant) and our Mother's Day Dinner was just that. Mom and my Wife BOTH LOVE The Patio and that's what they decided they wanted for Mother's Day dinner. Realizing it would be busy, they chose to have us pick it up and I called early in the day, to place the very simple order of 2 - 1/2 BBQ Chicken Dinners, 2 Cheeseburgers with only onion and cheese, and 2 large fries, having it set to be picked up at 5:00. Now, we arrive at 5:00 to pickup and it's ready when we arrive, so we pay and head home. Upon opening our dinner, it's realized that they have the entire order wrong. Instead of what we had ordered, we received 2 - 1/2 slabs of ribs and 2 extremely overcooked burgers with absolutely nothing on them, the 2 fries were correct. So, I proceed to call back because nobody here like or wanted the ribs and they decided to eat leftovers, expecting some reasonable customer service. However, the guy (manager) with whom I was on the phone was arrogant, ignorant and far less than reasonable. He instructed me to come back which I had no desire to do, so I expected him to possibly offer a credit of some sort or even just an honest, heartfelt apology, owning the mistake. Instead he told me to store the food in my refrigerator until I decided to return and he would "take care" of the problem then. Funny thing is, all he had to do was own the mistake and apologize, but he acted as though I was lying. So, the food has been discarded and the Patio where we've frequented for years will be on my "No Fly" list and I will make certain to spread the word of their lackluster service these days. smdh #ShittyFood...

As soon as you step through the doors, you're greeted by an eclectic mix of rustic décor and cozy furnishings, all carefully curated to evoke a sense of nostalgia. The warm lighting casts a soft glow over the space, enhancing the intimate atmosphere and inviting guests to settle in for a memorable dining experience. Upon perusing the menu, one dish immediately caught my eye—the CAJUN CHICKEN KABOB. I decided for the Single Cajun Skewer, complete with succulent chicken, vibrant green peppers, and onions, all served over a bed of flavorful Jambalaya Rice. This dish promised a tantalizing blend of flavors and textures, and it did not disappoint. From the moment the dish arrived at my table, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of Cajun spices filled the air, whetting my appetite and setting the stage for a culinary adventure. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the tender chicken perfectly complemented by the smoky char of the grill and the zesty kick of the Cajun seasoning. The accompanying Jambalaya Rice added a hearty element to the dish, infused with the rich flavors of shrimp, chicken Andouille sausage, and vegetables. To round out the meal, a side of crisp cole slaw and warm pita bread provided the perfect accompaniments, adding a refreshing crunch and a touch of indulgence to each bite. Every element of the dish was executed with precision and care, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. My experience at The Patio was nothing short of exceptional. The vintage charm of the space, combined with the outstanding cuisine, made for a dining experience that I won't soon forget. Read moreTo Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration following a recent experience at your establishment — a place I have frequented for over two decades. What once stood as a symbol of consistent quality and respectful service has unfortunately devolved into something I can no longer support or recommend.
During my last visit, not only was my order refused without reasonable explanation, but I was told — quite dismissively — that the service I requested was no longer offered and that my previous (incomplete) order had already been delivered. When I attempted to address the issue, the manager responded with rudeness and a complete lack of professionalism or empathy. There was no effort made to listen, resolve the problem, or even acknowledge the long history I’ve had with your business.
In over 20 years of patronage, I have never been treated with such indifference and disrespect. What made this especially shocking was the sharp contrast to the service I once knew — attentive, courteous, and reliable. Sadly, this recent experience felt like an unfortunate reflection of a deeper decline in both the management and the overall standards of the restaurant.
It pains me to say this, but I will not be returning. I will also be sharing my experience with friends and family, many of whom were introduced to your establishment through me. What was once a place I loved — known for its quality food at a fair price — has clearly lost its way.
Sincerely, A Concerned and Formerly...
