I went to it couple of times, and I will go to this Yemeni restaurant in most of the coming period at Bridgeview area. The food is tasty and they make the food the way the Yemeni people make in Yemen, they make it in the right way and it's very rare to find an Arabic restaurant which make their food as the right way back home in Middle East countries . This restaurant I think they are like this because the employees gained their experience from Yemen as chiefs when they used to live there , not like most of the Arabic restaurants in IL and in general in the US , which their chiefs got their experience here in the US , which I know that alot of them learned how to cook here in a different way of cooking starting from the methods of cooking or the ingredients of the food , which make the food tast different than the countries in Middle East and I believe that most of them didn't have cooking backgrounds in the Middle East countries , so that's why the Arabic food in the Arabic restaurants in the US don't tast the same like Middle East countries . In fact, I was amazed when I ate at Shibam restaurant because I went to many Yemeni restaurants in Saudi Arabia, Jordan , UAE and Qatar and the food in Shibam restaurant is identical to the local Yemeni restaurants in these countries. I highly recommend it if you visit IL , if you want to eat real Middle Eastern food with decent price , then this is one of few restaurants which serve the right ...
Read moreI drive by this restaurant all the time so I thought I should give it try I called in and place my order for some Chicken Shawarma sandwiches and Chicken Mandi the lady on the phone did not quote me a pick up time or total. I stopped for gas and on my way to pick up the food here, this was after aprox 20 minutes of placing the order when I got inside there was no one behind the counter, I waited for 10 minutes and than walked and asked the guy cooking food in kitchen to help me he said something that I didn't understand. A lady showed up from the dinning area after 7 minutes she didn't greet or said anything just kept on walking and talking to the guys coming in and out of the kitchen it was like a circus they were paying no attention to customer walking in and out of the Resturant I asked the lady 2-3 times if my food is ready she kept showing me her hand said "wait a second" At this point I was inside for over 16 minutes and total 36 minutes after placing my order. In all my experiance I have never experience such horrible customer service I will never go back to this place again. The guy cooking food inside was by him self he was not washing hands while handling the oven and switching stations so cross contamination for sure I hope the owners read this review and have a chat with their staff regarding proper hygiene and customer service. I wasted almost 40 minutes of my day &...
Read moreThe biggest pro to this location versus the 'north' location is that they have a shawarama option that is cheap and nice. The north location does not offer this. I would assume that due to the location in Bridgeview it is their way of competing with other places but to me it's a Yemeni place so that alone should make it unique and drive people in. I liked the seating here better than the North location; it was more spacious, had a clearly marked family section and there was an option to call the waiter remotely within the family section. The biggest thing was the wait staff just didn't seem to care; the wait staff at the North location is much more attentive and it doesn't take that long to get help, even if the restaurant is busy. The time I went to this location it was practically empty but I had to wait several minutes even though there were two waitresses and I could clearly see them sitting or in the back standing and just talking. I would go back if I was in the area but I would probably just order to go or...
