El Tapatio of Park Hills — Restaurant in Park Hills

After I ask to make a reservation he informed me they do not make reservations. He told me to call him the night before our party, and he would make sure we were seated by the bar as we were last year at our party. I called on Friday to make sure he could set me up at the bar as he had told me he informed me they had a reservation, I stated that was probably for our business we are the one that's at the reservation. He then stated is it 27 people? I said no it's 15. He said we have a reservation already. I then informed him of what they told me the week prior that they don't set reservations but I was to call. He said well we can seat you out in the other area I said we have a private party for a business and I was told to call on Friday for our party at 4 p.m. on Saturday now you're telling me you took a reservation after telling me that we prier that you don't make reservations. I looked around for 2 hours and finally found a Mexican restaurant that was in the factory in Farmington which turned out to be a much better place for our party after all. I would not recommend Farmington El tap for anyone...

Let me just start off with this: this review is only for the El Tap at this location. Not any others. The food was good like it is in all the El Taps I've been in so far. The service on the other hand was non-existent. No refills on drinks, the tea, which I did not get, some others at my table did (I got one warm beer) tasted like nothing more than water. My son went through half his meal with no straw as no one came to our table once to check on us and there wasn't anyone that wasn't socializing (flirting) to even look our way to flag down. We sat there for over 15 minutes when we were finished before anyone FINALLY came over and ask if we wanted refills ( lol, uh.... no thanks) and then gave us the check. Again, first bad experience at any El Tap location but that was the first time I'd been there...

I wish I had better things to say....

I have tried to go there a few times in the last couple of months, only to walk out before ever being seated (stood there for almost 10 minutes waiting to be seated while employees just walked past us and ignored us), then walking out after being seated the next time (should I have to wait 15 minutes for a waiter when there were barely 10 customers there?)

The third time was better (it was their last chance with me, although they didn't know it) but not one person (the girl who brought us chips and salsa, nor the boy who brought our drinks, nor the waiter) said one word to us or even cracked a smile.

The food was good - as always - when we finally got it.

This location has gone downhill. I wish it hadn't. I will not...
