Upon arriving to the restaurant for a date night we asked to be seated outside and we were accommodated. Once seated, we realized it was too cold and so we asked to be moved inside. Once again the staff was helpful and the waitress summoned the hostess who guided us inside to our new table.
At our table, we were greeted immediately and handed a charcuterie menu alongside food and drink menus. The charcuterie menu was on a fancy clipboard and allowed for us to pick and choose each of the meats and cheeses we wanted. It came out very quickly and was absolutely delicious!
My wife and I love to try gourmet burgers and so we both ordered the burger. I ordered medium rare, she ordered medium. The burgers came out literally at the exact moment that we were eating our last bite of charcuterie. Perfect timing.
Mine was cooked to perfection, my wife’s was a little underdone. I explained this to our waitress who had been faithfully refilling my Dr. Pepper each time it was gone (more on this later). The waitress immediately brought the manager who apologized and allowed us to keep my wife’s first burger (because to me it was cooked perfectly, but for her it was too pink). The manager informed us that both burgers would be comped, and that her replacement burger was on its way.
Once everything was straightened out, we were very impressed by the burger. It was flavorful, not too greasy or rich, just the right amount of sauce and cheese, and comes with fries and a pretty big side salad. $16, What a great value for a large meal with an amazing, upscale ambiance and classy service. McDonald’s is like $12 for a Big Mac, large fry and coke. This is 1000x better than that and costs less than 50% more.
Now for the piece that put everything over the top. I’ve had many experiences of food being comped, great service, fast refills, and nice meals, but this was a first for me:
Toward the end of our meal, I had just finished my second Dr. Pepper (lay off me, I never drink soda), and right on queue our waitress swings by to grab me another. A couple minutes later, she comes back and tells us that they are switching out the Dr. Pepper in the soda fountain and it will just be a couple more minutes. “No problem” I thought, not a big deal at all.
A minute later, I see the manager sprint, LITERALLY SPRINT, out the door through the parking lot. I tell my wife and we both wonder what he might be doing, maybe grabbing a missing ingredient from a restaurant next door or something…
Not even 2 minutes later, he sprints back through the parking lot with a receipt and bottle of something in his hand. He brought the bottle to the bar and a minute later I had a new glass of soda.
The manger had SPRINTED ACROSS THE PARKING LOT TO THE LIQUOR STORE TO BUY A BOTTLE OF DR. PEPPER to make sure my drink could be refilled (picture of bottle on bar below)!
This is not some Joe Shmoe guy either, he was professional, helpful, experienced, and seemed very knowledgeable and smart, yet he was willing to humble himself and do whatever it took to make sure our dinner and experience was uninterrupted by even the smallest inconvenience of an empty soda machine.
Any other restaurant would have just said “sorry we’re out, want a coke?”, but at Wolf Peach we saw first hand that they are trying to provide an experience that goes above and beyond. This is a huge gain for Parker.
So, make a reservation, get a charcuterie board, try the burger and leave a kind review, Wolf Peach deserves it.
To the people who keep leaving “I know it’s new and there are some kinks to work out, BUT…” 1-3 star reviews, do you want more unique and fun options for date night, or would you rather just keep going to Chipotle and Red Robin for dinner?? Before you leave a haphazard 1-3 star review, think about the potential effect it could have on the business, its owner/s and even your options for eating out...
Read moreWe went here yesterday at 5pm bc google says they have happy on Sundays from 5-6, verified by the restaurant. Our waitress didn't mention HH so we asked and she had to go ask someone else. She came back to tell us that they quit doing it when they started brunch. Okay, guess we'll stay and eat supper at 5pm. The decor is cool and modern. We were seated in the corner by the window, and there were gnats swarming around us the entire time. The table behind us seemed to have the same issue, so maybe ask for a table away from the windows. The bathroom could also use a good cleaning! They claim that the wine is on tap to preserve freshness, but the glass of rioja that I ordered tasted like it had come from a bottle that had been opened several days prior. Also not sure why they need to preserve the wine when they only have about a dozen on the menu; seems they would go through the bottles quick enough. The malbec that I had next was better, but still not worth the price. My husband had the Bordeaux that was about the same in quality as the malbec. I basically had to hollar for our waitress to come back so we could order a 2nd glass, bc she just dropped our apps and ran without asking if we wanted more wine, even though we both only had a sip left. My husband then ordered the rioja, not realizing it was what I already had, and when he asked to change she made him feel like he couldn't bc it was already poured. We tried the gnocchi and brussels for apps. The brussels were SO salty that we left half of them in the dish, and we are people who never waste food. The gnocchi was better, but still not amazing. My husband said the cheese was overpowering. I didn't mind it, just thought the dish could use some acid to brighten it up. My husband ordered the bison ragu. Once again, it was VERY salty. He basically puts extra salt on everything he eats, and he didn't on this and said it was still too salty for him. I have never heard him say something was too salty in the 20 years we have known each other. I ordered the short ribs. The meat was tender and had good flavor, but it was 1 small piece of meat. I was excited about the horseradish, but there was so little of it that I only tasted it in 1 bite. The carrot ginger puree was dry and had very little flavor. The dishes were pretty but small for the price. I probably would have given 3 stars, but spending over $200 on less than mediocre food and wine drove...
Read moreMy birthday dinner was a success! In my opinion, this was some wonderful culinary creativity, without the egregious price tag.
Drinks: Wife is pregnant and loved their mocktails. I, her husband, am not pregnant and had the boiler for starters. I was skeptical about bourbon and beer, but holy cr@p was it a phenomenal drink. In my age and whiskey experience, I don’t normally get buzzed off one drink but that one got the party started. I tried their caramel old fashioned and the waitress warned me it was pretty sweet. It was indeed very rich, but I still enjoyed it, and won’t dock stars due to the fair warning.
Food: We DESTROYED their charcuterie. I would happily return here if nothing else but charcuterie and drinks.
I really wanted to try their fried chicken because you don’t see eccentric restaurants just “put” fried chicken on the menu unless it’s good. It was great. Crunchy shell, tender inside, and best of all - no bones! The sauces that come with it work great together. Would order that alone for lunch.
The ricotta toast starter plate thing was next level. Absolute perfect flavor bomb that made both us very excited for the remainder.
We tried the ricotta gnocchi. The gnocchi standalone was phenomenal, but neither of us were huge fans for what we considered an excess of lemon, and a slightly overpowering amount of crab. It wasn’t bad, just not what we were expecting (at no fault of the Wolf Peach).
I got the burger. I almost got the bison ragu but the jalapeno bacon jam was calling my name. I was worried I wouldn’t have room to fit more food at this time, but when I bit into it… All I could think about was finishing it. Surprisingly, the thing that most stood out to me was how soft it was. It was like biting into a pillow of artisan burger. The flavors were spectacular. If the ingredients speak to you, definitely get this.
Finally, we finished with carrot cake and it was next level. Honestly, we both hated the weird whipped cream that came with it. It was extremely tart and citrus-y. Luckily we scraped it off and it was still so good. Some might be into it but we weren’t.
Overall, great experience. Will return, and excited to bring people here...
