After ten years of not going to Rubin’s for their Italian sub, I’ll go another 10, gladly. I dont know when they started heating the Italian sub but I remember it much better than what was placed before me today. Did they change ownership? Red onions are for subway subs. Rubin’s had the best subs hands down in this town. I received a half warm greasy soggy sub. The bread was so wet from the no doubt Kraft Italian dressing off the shelf at Sam’s club. I remember the sauce being on the side but today I had a bucket arrive in front of me. Jersey mikes has truly been the only point of light when wanting a premium sandwich in this town. As a kid, I remember the great taste of the hot Italian dressing putting a slight burn on my lips, but loving the best Italian sub in the mid-Ohio valley. Sadly, the politics and degradation in quality has ruined the nostalgic experience of my childhood (late 70's and all through the 80's). Possible they closed randomly, but didn't post it on their social media. Tried unsuccessfully to order online (which said they were open), but their menu was not up to date for Doordash or square for a Reuben.
