This was an amazing dinner for a deal as usual we tried a little bit of everything. Started with a great Chardonnay in generous pour and the natural sodas root beer and Mexican Coca-Cola. We started with fresh hot bread and butter then appetizers we got BRESAOLA Air cured beef bresaola, capers, shaved manchego, olive oil, maldon sea salt, grilled baguette toasts. (gf) So yummy this meat plate is everything I want in an appetizer balanced delicious the crunch bread with the cured beef CARLTON FARMS PORK BELLY Braised and seared pork belly, rhubarb gastrique, potato pave, pickled rhubarb yummy do not miss the rhubarb sauce and salad this was really nice all entrees served with house salad Mm my mm CARBONARA Spaghetti, fresh egg yolks, applewood smoked bacon, reggiano, pecorino, black pepper. This pasta was my favorite dish nothing quite does it for me like well seasoned carbonara this hits my top 5 best ever. PAN-BRAISED RABBIT Pancetta and fresh herb pan sauce, creamy chevre polenta, Adam’s market blend mushrooms, dandelion greens. (gf) Neither of us ever had rabbit before this trip and wow is it so yummy everything about this dish worked it was rich and fresh. SWORDFISH Heirloom tomato salad, pistachio gremolata, peach vinaigrette. (gf) The fish was a little overdone for me but very flavorful and the tomatoes in the peach sauce were so good. Marvelous meatballs in the red marinara proper mix of beef and pork so delicious. We also tasted two desserts a vanilla cream berry dish and a limoncello tiramisu both were beautiful and scrumptious. Overall I gave marzanos all 5 stars in every category the staff and atmosphere were amazing. I will definitely visit this classic local restaurant again.

Husband and I dined at Marzano’s for our 1 year anniversary. They require reservation and only hold a small capacity so make sure you do this. We were able to bring our baby, she’s 7 months. There are no high chairs but they sat us at a large enough table to accommodate her in her car seat. I would recommend only bringing kids who are able to keep the volume down. Ours is pretty calm in social settings and we knew this before taking her out as we did not want to disturb other guests. It does get loud and echoes as it’s a small venue. The atmosphere was really nice and romantic but we saw many people celebrating different things or just there for a casual dinner between friends. They had lights dimmed and candles on table. They give you a card depending on the occasion. Our server was really nice and knowledgeable. We got the calamari as an appetizer and this was delicious, we loved how it came out really warm! They give complimentary bread with butter and a really delicious house salad. Husband got the special that night, it was some type of ravioli and I got the Boscaiola! Timing of food was great, we didn’t wait too long in between each dish. I think I the owner even came out to say hello. We had their berry almond cream cake for dessert and took half of it to go which I finished at home the next day. Pricing was decent, worth it, about $30 per dish, $20 for apps. We spent $115 for three beers, two dishes and one app, and one dessert! Overall great experience. We hope to come back every year for our anniversary!

Ok so let me start by saying I don't really give a lot of 5 star reviews. Only if my experience is beyond amazing do I do that. This was all that in spades.

I made a reservation for myself and my son and daughter-in-law after having not seen them in forever since the 'rona and the restrictions lifted. I made them for 4pm for dinner.

We were seated right away, outside on the patio, which is lovely by the way, and we're brought water and menus by the hostess. She informed us of the specials; one appetizer and two entrees. We opted for the appetizer.

It was this simple, but amazing, pieces of crusted bread, heirloom tomatoes, balsamic drizzle, pesto, and fresh mozzarella. And by fresh, I mean absolutely amazing. It was heavenly. A great start to the unexpected that was to come.

I ordered the gnocchi, my son ordered a simple cheese pizza, and my daughter-in-law, the boscaiola (rigatoni). Sounds uncomplicated, right? Hold on to your pants folks.

The gnocchi were ABSOLUTELY little pillows of heaven on earth, served with a cream sauce that had roasted corn, carmelized fennel, pancetta, and other ingredients that made this one of the most amazing italian dishes I've ever had. It's one of those dishes you take a bite of and savor for a minute and then go back for another. Rinse and repeat.

My son said that his pizza was one of the best he's ever had in his life. And this kid has eaten some pies, let me tell you.

My daughter-in-law had the same experience as myself; take a bite, enjoy the experience, rinse and repeat.

We ordered dessert to go and, as of this review, we've yet to taste them. I have no doubt that, as I sit down to savor this sweetness it will be no less enjoyable to the experience I had had this wonderful, family owned restaurant.

The price? Less than what you would expect for one of the best italian meals you'll ever have.

Do yourself a favor. Book a reservation online, try them out. Expect the experience to take over and hour as ours took an hour and a half.

But that hour and a half? I'll be reliving for quite sometime. At least until I partake in their outstanding food again.

PS: Sit in the patio if you can and the time of year allows. It absolutely adds to...

A Perfect Italian Dining Experience at Marzano’s:

Marzano’s is an absolute gem in Tacoma—easily the best Italian restaurant I’ve had the pleasure of visiting in the PNW, and I’ve been searching. From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic, so well rehearsed. As requested beforehand, they had wine ready for our table, setting the perfect tone for the evening. Every staff member—the host, our server, and the drinks specialist—was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive, making us feel genuinely valued.

The food was nothing short of exceptional, with every dish showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients and masterful preparation. We sampled the Pork Belly app, and traditional Carbonara and Lasagna Bolognese. The pork melted in our mouths and left us absolutely stunned by the flavor. Based upon the deliciousness of these standard menu items, we are ready to start ordering the specials. While we visited, I believe the offering was Salmon and Rabbit. The drinks menu was equally impressive, complementing the meal perfectly. After dinner, we sampled the Portugal Red Port. We will be requesting the details on where to purchase the bottle next time we visit.

What truly set Marzano’s apart, though, was their thoughtful service. They discreetly took my card during seating as requested, to ensure my date couldn’t pay before I had the chance—an extra touch of hospitality that speaks to their attention to detail.

This won’t be our last visit. I’m already planning to bring my whole family, and I can see this becoming a go-to spot for every special occasion. Business casual attire, or more distinguished, is preferred, and that makes it an even more special place and provides an even more elevated atmosphere.

If you’re looking for outstanding Italian cuisine, an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere, and top-tier service, Marzano’s is the...
