So about 1:30 this morning my wife and i got the munchies. We looked for a place that was open. Nothing close was. But I told her to call East China because I've seen people there way past midnight. A gentleman took the call and our order. The same guy also delivered. We ordered some egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken. The sauce was on the side, how my wife prefers it. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. The egg rolls were perfect as well. We got all that delivered for $14. And the quantity was right up there with the quality. We were both able to get 2 meals out of this. We'll definitely be coming back to this place. I only gave the atmosphere 4 stars because we had delivery. The food was great and the man who we dealt with was so nice and polite. You will love it too.

☆ METAL FOUND IN FOOD. PICTURE INCLUDED ☆ This place used to be a family favorite for over 10 years, they've been getting our business. A few days ago while eating East China food my sister pulls a peice of wirey metal out of her mouth! When we called to obviously ask for a refund, because who would eat food they aren't sure there is more metal in? They had the nerve to say they'll give us that plate of food free next time. Why would we come back after that? METAL. That could REALLLY hurt someone! They are lucky this didn't cut up her throat. Definitely beware of this place in the future.

The food is really good, other than the metal shaving that was in my dish. I ordered for delivery and it was supposed to be here by 12:38, it got here at 1:03 and when I called at 1255 to check, the lady answered and immediately said, it's on its way to you now. I clicked the option to have updates for the order but didn't receive one. There is also no pork in the fried rice as stated on the website for the lunch dish.. the food itself is good, but I don't think I'll be ordering from here again.

**So at the time that I wrote my first review (below), I had never had a problem, and therefore never had a need to test East China's service skills. Unfortunately, that all came to an end a few days ago. At 7:15pm on Saturday evening, I placed a delivery order. I was told that it would take 45 minutes to arrive (that's what they always say, and it's usually faster). After an hour and 15 minutes, I called to check on the order. The girl on the phone told me the order was already on it's way, and I accepted that, even without an apology or any sense of concern. Well, after another 30 minutes, I called to cancel the order. The girl said "no" because it was on it's way already, and mentioned that the driver was "new." "That's what you told me a half-hour ago," I said, to which she answered, "it was." I explained that I have been waiting too long for this order and that if it was in a car for over a half hour before it got to my house, I wouldn't want it anyway. So she says, "But we were very busy tonight. Just wait for the order." And I said, "Then you should have been honest with me from the beginning. Then there would be no problem right now. Please cancel the order." The reply to this was a loud "click." Yes, they hung the phone up on me.

So, rather than doing ANYTHING to try to retain a long-time customer (tell the truth, apologize, offer an incentive), they get to keep their pride, and I get to be the jerk that never calls them again. Well, at least now I have a reason to try some other Chinese restaurants. Thanks for that.

(original review) I wasn't there on January 12, 2009, but I can tell you that those experiences could not have been normal ones. I have ordered from this restaurant at least once a month for the past three years and have never been disappointed. The only slight drawback is that the order takers are usually in a hurry to get off the phone. Good food and friendly delivery drivers, though. In short, I am happy enough with this restaurant that I have never tried another Chinese...

This is the first time I tried this restaurant out it was for takeout. I ordered roast pork with mixed vegetables lunch special. The menu that was on the counter showed $5.25 so I gave it a try the That guy end up charging me $6.95 I asked him why so much more? He said it was an old menu. These were the takeout menu that were on the counter. I proceeded to tell him “Why don’t you get new ones or scratch out the old price” he proceeded to tell me about how expensive everything is nowadays and I get that but like a bait and switch kind of thing not happy!! I noticed that while he was preparing my food. There were no gloves however I understand that, but there is no washing the hands at all after getting the cold pork out of a refrigerator and cutting it up with no gloves and throwing that into the wok along with the vegetables still no washing of the hands with soap or anything. I just hoped that the oil or any type of germs would be killed by the high heat. It also included a choice of soup. Mine was wonton. Watery broth and three noodles I Do NOT !!!! Recommend this place to anybody stay far away and the kitchen looks filthy also. If I can Give it a zero star I would !! 🥴. This guy certainly didn’t Care after I told him I will not be coming back and I will not recommend this place to Anyone. He shrugged his shoulders and said “ That’s fine. I...

For over 10 years, my family and I have relied on East China on Brookpark Road for our takeout, and it has never disappointed us. Despite sticking to our favorite dishes—Singapore Style Noodles, Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, Egg Rolls and the Hot and Sour Soup (no msg, pork, etc)—the flavor and quality consistently exceed our expectations. As vegetarians with specific dietary needs, we truly appreciate the care and attention the owner puts into preparing our meals. Each dish is crafted to perfection, with vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients that always satisfy. The Singapore Style Noodles are a delightful blend of spices and vegetables, while the Broccoli with Garlic Sauce is a flavorful, garlic-infused treat. The Egg Rolls are consistently crisp and packed with taste. The personalized attention to our dietary restrictions makes East China stand out. The owner’s commitment to delivering delicious, customized meals keeps us coming back and makes every order a pleasure. For anyone looking for reliable, flavorful Chinese takeout in Cleveland and is a vegetarian, East China is...
