First visit based on reviews and honestly Cleveland, I don't see how anyone would give them anything higher than two stars unless this is the only Chinese restaurant you've ever eaten at. Sesame chicken pieces were way too big, sauce was lumpy and as bland as...heck, I can't even think of anything that bland and I even asked to make it spicy. Fried rice, yeah they had it and I'm sure it was fried 3-4 hours ago at a minimum. Brings me to their table mustard and sweet and sour sauce, both had the consistency of water and to my amazement, it nearly shot off the table when I tilted the container. Believe me, I'm no food snob/critic, but I've been doing this eating thing for 47 years and I love Chinese restaurants, but come on.... really? Onto the staff; they were great and the only reason for two stars. Friendly, helpful, attentive, but they had to be since it was only 8:15 pm on a Monday and I was the only person in the restaurant. Surprise, surprise and I should have took that as an immediate hint. Me = not so smart, I stayed. People, please do yourself a solid and venture out, trying a few other places before committing Jade's as your holy grail, Chinese go-too. It's like marrying the girl you met in 7th grade and never dating. You have no idea what your missing out on in this big beautiful world. Ole' Jade's, I'm sure you had your time as King, Emperor, whatever, but I am sorry to say, that...
Read moreMy family and I eat a lot of chinese food. Had some bad experiences, but most places the food tastes similar, so we go to different restaurants. We decided to try china jade today. First thing that baffled me was that the cost was almost $15 more than anywhere else to feed my family. Got home, food was packaged in Styrofoam take out trays. Opened them to see large portions, so i thought maybe it was worth the price. Until we stared eating. The rice was bland and not the normal color. My general tsos chicken was large squares of chicken that looked like they should be on a bun. The sauce was thin and watery with very little flavor. The egg rolls were not normal egg rolls either. I believe they were made with spinach instead of cabbage. My wifes sweet and sour chicken was greasy breadding with watery chicken. Mother and grandmother got beef lo mein. They seemed to be ok the lo mein, but said it was nowhere near as good as anyplace else we have had. They also disliked the rice and egg rolls. No one finished anything. I spent almost $45 for 4 people to still be hungry at the end of everything. I would not recommend going to china jade. Low quality. Low taste....
Read moreFirst time ordering. Very disappointed. My food wasn't even close to traditional Chinese food. I ordered the sweet and sour pork combo and the wonton soup. What I recieved was not even close. The wanton soup didn't have any wontons. Just fat noodles with added strips of pork and some greens. A wonton is a dumpling with a minced seasoned pork filling, not just fat noodles in a broth with strips of pork meat added. My sweet and sour pork was just chunks of deep fried breaded pork with a side of some pink, sweet flavored sauce. That's it. Not even close to what it's supposed to be. A real sweet and sour dish has chunks of pineapple, chopped red and green bell peppers and onions in a brown Cantonese or Jiangsu style sauce. This wasn't even close. The entire meal was a big disappointment including the somewhat salty egg roll and the barely there fried rice. Does anyone out there know where I can order some REAL traditional Chinese food? Unfortunately, many American Chinese forgot how to cook their own dishes. This restaurant is one of them. I will not...
