Save A Lot used to be an okay place to shop, with an obvious trade off for mostly lower quality food but for really reasonable prices. Shopping there over the years, you would start to get a feel for what food was a good value intersection of taste/quality and price and what to stay away from. In the past year or so however, it's actually MUCH more affordable to shop at just about any other grocery store (even Whole Foods actually matches or beats a lot of their prices), and you'll in turn get MUCH higher quality food. Almost every item at SAL across the board is either more expensive or equal to pricing at other stores.
This has been an issue much longer than the recent remodeling of the store. I've entirely discontinued shopping here, except for occasional convenience when grabbing a forgotten item from other stores since it's nearby.
Food prices are up everywhere, but the exponential percentage increase at Save A Lot is the most obvious greed and price gouging I've seen across all corporations. I personally wouldn't return as a customer if they remediated their pricing in the future based...
Read moreI love coming to my Save A Lot store., But not for the food but for the employees. Jennifer and Darlynn are by far the most amazing workers you have at any store. Jennifer is great with her staff. She's always smiling and never ever stands still and my Mrs. Darlynn, well I specifically go shopping on the days that I know she is working. Save-A-Lot is very very lucky to have these ladies working for their company. Thank You.
UPDATE ...... Came in tonight n saw my favorite lady at Save Alot... Mrs Darlynn! Thank You Corporate for hopefully making Mrs Darlynn happy. Im to old school to ask her about private matters so I hope you actually are keeping her happy because she's a treasure worth knowing! 7/27/24 newer update Since the newer renovations update, the store has been cleaner, the cashier staff having the best I've seen, since I've been shopping there. The meat department could use a little help. I've been finding packages of hamburger meat that are brown and expired. Yuck I really come to Save-A-Lot to see the staff as the best part...
Read moreI've had problems with this store before. Selling breakfast sausage at full price that was about to expire in a couple of days. Selling ribs (meat) that you can tell had been thawed & refroze multiple times. A cashier that always has greasy unwashed hair. But I would just overlook it. But on St. Patrick's day and a Saturday. there was only one (the greasy hair) cashier open and the line was long & reached the end cap of the aisle. Other customers where making comments and getting angry as another cashier comes walking up and had to be told to open up. She took care of a customer with a return. Myself and others got in her line. Both lines were down the aisles almost to the back of the store now. She looks up and said in a snarky tone, "Wow my line has grown and I'm not even opened. Well I guess I am now". I lost it! I've been waiting for over 15 minutes now. I said are you f'ing kidding me? You have to be told to open and do your job?! I left and will NEVER shop this...
