Worst food experience ever. I was excited to try the weekend buffet at Cinnamon and was willing to drive 30 minutes for some good Indian food. Before arriving I confirmed the hours of buffet and was told that it was till 2.30 pm. I arrived at 1.55pm and again confirmed at reception if the buffet was on. Once I started serving food, I realized that some of the items like chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, kebabs and naan (Indian bread) were almost over. It was just 2pm and if some of food items are almost over, I would expect the restaurant to replenish it, since I am paying the full price for the buffet. I asked the staff if they can refill these items but no one bothered. I grabbed one piece of naan from the 3-4 pieces which were sitting in the tray. The food was cold, chicken kebabs were cold, hard and chewy. No sever ever came to our table to pick any plates or to refill water. By 2.15pm the staff started announcing that they are picking up the food, so if anyone needs to refill anything, they should do it quickly. Already the food was cold and unappetizing, and then I was rushed to get a single helping of dessert before it was removed. Generally I don’t write a negative review but this was the worst food experience I have had in any Indian restaurant. We still paid the full price and even left a tip. We were very disappointed with the entire experience. The management should work on the quality, service and...
Read moreThere is a lot to worry about in the world currently. However, here is a place where uncertainty is not an issue and you are able to find a meal which will give you hope for a better future, where you might have another dinner here. where the prices are in proportion to what you get, and you'll actually have leftovers if you don't split the meal. My new favorite dish is from here, Lal Maas, which hails from the head chefs home town. It balances flavor with heat in such a perfect way I had trouble penetrating the depths of flavor I was experiencing because I was enjoying it too much. My starter was a chicken curry dish witch was also a delight. The chicken was moist and paired well with the mint sauce. To round out the meal I enjoyed the garlic naan and Marsala chai. both of which were excellent but that's to be expected. While this review is already long enough I am compelled to mention the top notch service and friendliness of the staff. I think it's family run and it shows in the best way. All of which is it say: this is the best Indian restaurant...
Read moreThis is not an authentic Indian Restaurant .. Might be I can say that this is North indian ( Gujarathi ) restaurant .. Every curry has sugar added, so if you seriously like pure indian food .. then dont expect much from this. Every Item is westrenised .. Of course price is 11 dollors and there are so many items but all are mistified (sugar added as per bengali language).
I am seriously disappointed with the sweetened curries .. in other words irritated. This restaurant is only for americans and gujjus, bengalis and not for south indian people. Hopefully atleast if they can introduce one curry with no sugar .. then this can be a top restaurant as every thing else is good.
Try ur luck .. I told what ever I felt .. I had to eat some chips to refresh my mouth after eating this sweet crap, Ofcourse innocent americans were enjoying this as they dont know the original taste of our indian curries and some indians were searching for spicy stuff and left the place disappointed.
Not but not least - very less salt/chilly in all the items - no salt/pepper...
