Nail Castle — Local services in Denville

I get my nails done infrequently, but every time I do choose to get my nails done, I’ve chosen Nail Castle. I think the quality of service used to be better. I usually get the callus remover add-on for my pedicures, and this last time it was a really quick service and not what I was used to.

I was super excited for my last visit because I brought my 5-year old with me for her birthday. When it was time for my manicure, they moved to put my daughter’s shoes on, which I felt was too soon after finishing her pedicure. I mentioned this and said I would carry her to her seat as to not smudge her pedicure, but they continued to put her shoes on and when we got home most of her toes were smudged. I dried my nails at the nail drying station for a long time and had my pedicure done first. Despite this, my toes also smudged very easily, which surprised me because it had been 30+ minutes since I had gotten them done, plus like 5+ minutes at the dryers and then the drying spray was used. My manicure chipped sooner than expected (this is given my previous visits). I’m not really sure what has changed, the staff was very nice and courteous so there’s no issue there, but the actual application of polish and the wear-time really decreased. Due to this, and my pedicure service being different (less time taken, different tools/fewer used, different application, etc.) I think I will have to explore other local options. Overall, it’s clean and nice here, but the quality has varied too much to be considered my go-to...

I had an awesome first experience here. I went in for my appointment and the salon was clean and shiny! In the midst of Covid 19 that is all I want. I was also happy to find that they checked my temperature and had me fill out a covid 19 checklist. There were only two people working in the salon and two guests were on their way out when I arrived. I got the whole salon to myself! The foot massage was AMAZING and the gel manicure was one of the best. No pedicure this time but I will definitely be going back for one. The staff are super welcoming and kind but also give you your space. I’m the kind of person who prefers to be at the salon relaxing in silence without making small talk so this place was perfect for me. Overall...

Yesterday my mother went in and asked for a service and they denied her and told her that they were too busy and wouldn’t. I walked in not even a few minutes later and they told me that there was a 30 minute wait and treated me better. Why didn’t they at least tell my mom there was a wait? Instead they denied her entirely and made her feel discriminated and uncomfortable. She says the workers were rude about it and were giving each other looks. Why tell me there was a 30 minute wait but not her?
