I was in the area and decided to stop in for a sub. My bf has been coming here for years and swears by this deli as one of the best around. This mom and pop deli is not much to look at from the outside. They have free parking out front with several spots they share with another business. Once inside you can see why they call this place The Parsippany Deli/ Emerald Gifts aka The Irish Deli. As soon as you walk in the front door, they have a glass counter that displays beautiful China from Ireland. They sell teas, marmalade, sausages, bacon, black and white pudding, Irish candies, also Brennan's bread. During the month of March they make and sell homemade Irish Soda Bread. As you make your way to the front counter you will meet owner Eddie, along with Avril. They were both very friendly and told me about their business. Posted on the counter is their sandwich and salad menus. The Parsippany deli/Emerald gifts has been in business for 56 years, now I know why. Their prices are reasonable, and everything is homemade. They also do catering. They roast all their own meats like Roast Beef, Turkey Breast, and Baked Virginia Ham. I highly suggest getting a half of a sub. It’s as big as most whole subs. This place doesn’t skimp on their meats, just the opposite. When I got home and opened up my sub I was pleasantly surprised, and couldn’t believe how much meat was on it. It was probably one of the best Italian subs I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over for subs. I ordered their Italian Sub - Ham, Salami, Capocollo they call it Hot Ham, and Cheese. I got mine with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, oil and vinegar. It was really delicious. I wound up eating a half of a half and saved the rest for later. My bf ordered their Roast Beef n American Cheese Sub. The Roast Beef was cooked perfectly rare and piled on the sandwich with lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar. He enjoyed it so much he ate the entire thing. I also ordered 2 of their homemade salads. Macaroni and Potato Salad. The macaroni was my favorite. It was rich and creamy. I highly recommend this place, you won’t be...
Read moreA Genuine Taste of Old-School Deli Magic Stepping into Parsippany Deli is like taking a delightful trip back in time. This is the definition of an old-school, old-fashioned deli, right down to the atmosphere and the incredibly old-fashioned staff. As someone who drove up looking for a quick, post-work lunch and is used to the quick pace of a city like Chicago, I was thrilled—this place absolutely didn't miss. The food here is genuinely delicious. I highly recommend the hot pastrami sandwich—it was simply so good!—and the seafood salad sub was excellent, hitting all the right notes for a satisfying lunch. Now, about that old-school experience: I called my order in and, after driving up and eventually snagging a rare parking spot, I walked in about ten minutes later. When I asked about my pick-up order, the initial response from one of the women was a little huff. After clarifying I had called it in, they then began to prepare the order. It's that slightly chaotic, "we'll get to you when we get to you" style, which honestly just adds to the authentic, unhurried, classic charm of the place once you accept the pace. The only minor note was the potato salad. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't my cup of tea; I prefer a different preparation style. But one side dish quirk isn't enough to detract from the overall fantastic experience. If you're in the area and craving a truly authentic, high-quality deli lunch, I would absolutely recommend Parsippany Deli. Go for the hot pastrami sandwich or the seafood salad sub, enjoy the flavor, and embrace the...

He looks at me coughs on his hand and touches my sandwhich with his bare hands. I asked him can you please wash your hands after that. He looked at me with disgust because i told him that. Then starts touching my cheese. And microwaves my bacon still with no gloves. Gives me my cheese cold not melted hey i dont know how new jersey makes their food but the way that deli does it sucks. Would not recommend this place to no-one. When you hand food you have to use gloves. Especially after touching your...
