The Ranchito Taqueria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Pasadena

First let me start off by saying, I have LOVED this place since it was next door to a gas station. The food and service has always been amazing. However, I’m only rating them 3 stars because for the first time in a long time instead of ordering to-go, we decided to eat in the restaurant. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the ranchito, it’s a seat-yourself restaurant, but the waitresses/waiters typically come out very quickly. The place was dead, and we were straight up ignored. The women working in the front looked right at us, and still didn’t come get our drink order or greet us at all for like 15-20 minutes. Several people walked in and were greeted before they even sat down literally right in front of us. just as I was about to get up to go to the front and ask if something changed and I needed to order at the front, the waitress came. She was very short and obvious at wanting to get us out because she gave us the ticket before we were even ready for it, I was still trying to order more drinks and a to-go order. I couldn’t even get a drink refill before I finished food. I’m not sure why they were discriminating against us the way that they were, but it was THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I have ever received. Now I feel Uncomfortable, and I’m not sure if I will ever return. They also didn’t even let me know my to-go order was ready. After all of this, they still had the audacity to ask me for a tip, AND they charged me extra for using a debit card instead of cash, which has NEVER happened. When I brought to their attention that we were ignored so i was only leaving a $3 tip, instead of apologizing it trying to make amends, she made an excuse and didn’t apologize once. I didn’t have a good experience here on Friday 1-19-18. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and when I cut into it, the lettuce was old and slimy. It looked like cabbage and tasted really gross. The waitress stopped by to drop the check and to see how things were before I even got to take a bite so I didn’t get to show her the problem. She never came back to check on us again. I picked the chicken out and ate that at least. Then when I went to pay the cashier asks how things were. I said not so good with the old slimy lettuce on my chimichanga. He replies ok you had the chimichanga and proceeds to ring me up like he doesn’t care about what I just said. So I said the lettuce was no bueno and he said he would go check on it. I could tell I was getting nowhere so I just walked out after paying even though I felt I should not have had to pay for my meal that I barely got to eat. Came to this restaurant today been here before alot of times i had ordered the seafood fish/shimp caldo de marisco terrible el sabor super dulce and mi mama ordeno pescado frito y le dije que no muy frito cuando llego el sabor del pescado sabia pasado sabia a refrijerado la mesera muy atentamente nos cambio la comida por tacos perdon però los tacos estaban con mucha grasa y muy secos somos regulares pedi a llamar al manager this guy came up to me instead with a terrible attitude toward me saying he wouldnt take off the meals so i ended up paying the tacos no solution at all waste of time and they didnt took it off my ticket they couldve just taken it off no big deal i also asked for the manager not even there to deal with the issue no where to be seen or heard First and last time coming Worst place ever bad management yall lost regulars ill be calling the health department soon flies fliying everywhere and chairs all old moldy and rusty Gross 🤮🤢 This place doesn't deserve a star✨️ at all !!!
