The cashier (6:30-6:45 weekdays is when I’ve gone) very literally chooses which order to serve customers. I stood in line today for five minutes, other days it’s been faster (but only because someone from the back comes to help the cashier). She (presumably), points to the person she’s decided to serve or decides someone else should serve. My normal take is to simply say that the person in front of me was next or to step forward to order. Today, I had stepped to the register, was asked to wait and then two others were that had just walked in were served. That was the last straw. It is already a trial to get in the door, with all the customers with coffee and pastry in hand, talking about work near the door and throughout the lot, being told to wait until they decide I’m worthy of spending my money— I’ll pass. I’ll start going to Winchell’s on Lake or even better, a Mom and Pop...

Not a lot of seating but there's a big parking lot so you can eat in your car or outside. You can tell it's an important local place for people to get daily coffee and talk with others.
