Hong Kong Palace — Restaurant in Pascagoula

I have eaten a lot of "Chinese" food in my life. I am from Chicago a food town. Hong Kong Palace is just about the only place here on the Gulf Coast that doesn't try to recycle food service items into "authentic" dishes. Their regular entrees are OK. I make better fried rice though. The wonton soup is great. The egg rolls are also very good even though they are small. The egg foo young is the best I have ever had, anywhere. I would have given this place 4 out of 5 stars but as mentioned it isn't perfect in all areas. Ultimately I gave it 2 stars because even though the lady is very sweet and makes sure you have all you need ala utensils and condiments, I was just told that they can't make egg foo young right now because they are too busy and to order that in the morning time. What?! Don't offer things on the menu that you aren't willing to prepare, or get more help in the kitchen! I won't be going back for a while, might learn to make these dishes for myself. NEVER EVER EAT HERE. Absolutely not worth the money spent at all. $72 to eat and $475+ doctors and meds. Out of six of us four now has food poisoning after eating there. It took them so long to get our drinks to us that we made plates and were half done before we got anything to drink. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time. There was not enough utensils to get food off of the buffet, so tongs and spoons had to be used for multiple items. The food was dried and hard as rock, it had been sitting there for quite a while even one of the employees said that they were behind on cooking but they had fresh food coming out that never came out after waiting for almost an hour. The condiments on the the table were a few months outdated. The restaurant stunk badly, there was mold and mildew on the walls and baseboards. Ended up at this place after searching for a new Chinese restaurant near me. Once we’re pulled up at the parking lot the building look like it was shut down for good. The only thing that had sign that they were open was a few cars upfront, we’re walked and was greeted at the door by a nice lady, who took our order. Food portions were huge!
