The name says it all. Hole in the wall BBQ joint cranking out good eats for lunch everyday. I've been several times in the past but had not come in awhile since the lunch club broke up. Partly because they are tucked away on the side of the building I often forget they're there and miss them driving by. Luckily I came to my senses and stopped by for lunch. It might've been the timing, coming at noon instead of 11am, but they were busiest I've ever experienced. Otherwise I would've called in that order and saved myself some time. They moved as quickly as their smoked BBQ would allow. I've had the pulled pork in the past, but went with the #4 combo with chicken, ribs and (jalapeno)sausage. With the two sides it was a lot of food. Everything was excellent. The sausage was appropriately spicy, and the ribs tender and smoky. Same with chicken, but I'm not sure how they get the skin so crisp. The sides are just as good as the BBQ. There was almost as much meat in my baked beans as beans. I had the 1/2 rack plate of St. Louis style pork spare ribs with the baked potato salad, and sweet baked beans with roll. The dry rub on this meat is heavenly, it's the real deal. The meat just falls off the bone clean. Tender, juicy, with bits of crispy edges (bark) make this rib finger licking good, no sauce needed. They do offer a tomato based bbq sauce but you don't need it. The potato salad was super rich and creamy tasting with the right amount of spices for flavor. The baked beans were extra sweet. It had bits of sausage added.
I finished up with a cup of Banana Pudding. It was perfectly made, with ripe banana slices and nilla wafers. My only complaint would be not offering a larger sized cup of the stuff.
My wife had the half chicken plate with the same sides. same dry rub, same smoke. Same result, perfect chicken that just falls off of the bone. Juicy and tender. She loved the banana pudding too!
