Yamato Steakhouse — Restaurant in Pascagoula

So I decided to try this place after I found myself bored and trying to think of what I wanted to eat while in town for work. I eat a lot of sushi and am a little picky. The restaurant appeared to be a former fast food place. It had a drive thru window that clearly isn't used anymore. The decor was a little boring, but it seemed clean.

I ordered the gyoza, Mississippi roll, and white rice. The gyoza was pretty good, but I have no idea what the sauce they served with it was. It wasn't your usual potsticker sauce. It was okay. The roll was not the best I have had, but certainly not the worst. The fish was fresh enough and had decent texture. The flavor was lacking a little. The rice was slimy, but had a decent texture otherwise. They only have the low sodium soy sauce on the tables along with what I assume is yum yum sauce in little squeeze bottles. I tried neither.

My biggest peeve was my waitress. She was diligent and prompt, but failed to introduce herself at all. Wasn't very personable either.

My family loves this restaurant. The food is ALWAYS great. Never had a meal yet that wasn’t perfecto. The folks that run this restaurant and their employees are a surpurb crew. They are always attentive to my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter, and she gets in moods, that’s putting it politely (more like a melt down in Chernobyl actually), and they are so patient, especially one of the owners, a very sweet pretty girl who is always bringing my g-daughter balloons and treats. Normally ordering hibachi and getting your meal is quick. We placed our order and waited 45 minutes and never got our food or seen our server. We only had 1 hour for our lunch break. After the 45 minutes of waiting I went up to the counter and told them don’t worry about it, that we have to go due to time. The lady tried talking us into staying, however after 45 minutes of waiting and our lunch break being nearly over, we had to leave. She still charged us for the drinks.
