The Chicken Shack-Pasco — Restaurant in Pasco

I really wanted to like this place. The music was fun. The sayings on the wall were classic. The prices were high in my opinion but we were ready to try it anyway. So, we got the Shack pack (20 chicken fingers, 4 large drinks, 2 large sides) with sides of fries and tater tots. Normally, its $45.99 but because of the tater tots, we were charged another $3.

When the food arrived, the fries and tater tots were salty but good and then we tried the chicken fingers. They tasted like the salt shaker had broken over them. We had a party of 6 and using the dipping sauces or peeling the breading off we were able to eat 9 before our mouths felt like they had been packed with our own individual salt licks.

So, we took the remaining chicken fingers up and let them know they were too salty. Long/short of the story, they were only going to give me $10 back. When I said that wasn't ok, they said they'd call me the next day...still waiting for the call.

I'm happy to pay for the tater tots, fries, and even the drinks but I would like to be refunded for the chicken. Using their prices, here's how that would break down:

Large Fries = $4.79 Large Tots = $7.29 Large Drink = $3 x 4 drinks

Sub-Total = $24.08 (pre-tax)

Total price paid (pre-tax) = $48.99

Price to be refunded for bad chicken ($48.99 - $24.08) = $24.91 (pre-tax)

For the price I paid and the quality food I got, I will not be going there again.

Still waiting for them to make it right. I'll even update this review if they do contact me and fix the issue.

The manager did reach out to me and made things right. She was very understanding and wanted to know how they could make things better. I was really impressed with how she handled things. As we did enjoy the rest of the food, and the atmosphere was fun, we will probably...

With a name like "The Chicken Shack", I thought "I am about to have some good chicken" and "I'm ready to have chicken as good as Chick-fil-A".

Unfortunately I was wrong.

I had the breaded chicken sandwich, which should be the easiest to pull off with ease. However, in this case, the salt on the breading overpowered the flavor of the entire sandwich. The chicken within the sandwich was underseasoned (if seasoned at all) and the meat was partially gristle.

The sides we chose were the French fries and tater tots which were both okay, but you could get the same or better flavor anywhere else.

Your order comes with a large drink of which you can pick the most basic Pepsi products (standard 8 taps).

The wait was also incredibly long for a fast food type of setup. There were maybe 5 couples in the restaurant and it took like 30 minutes to get our food.

Aditionally, the design of the menu is somewhat confusing. I can't exactly pin down what the problem is, but it's overwhelming. The website isn't much help either as there aren't pictures associated with menu items.

One positive: the people at the counter were very nice.

Advice to the owner Work on the 'wow factor' of your chicken. Your restaurant is about chicken so the taste should absolutely reflect it.

Check out similar menu styled websites like Applebee's and notice how things are listed. You can easily copy this type of style with a WordPress installation.

This place started out really tasty with tender and crispy chicken. But nearly everytime we went they were super slow. We then started ordering our meals and we'd get them to-go within 15 min. We decided to dine-in since we hadn't gone in while and this was our experience; We were denied water cups when ordering. Apparently there were some people stealing fountain drinks so they decided to change their policy and the staff can't give out water cups anymore. It took nearly 45 minutes to get our food. The chicken came out overcooked, dry, and chewy. There was trash in the bucket on our table meant for condiments and seasonings. Within the time we spent there (which was well over an hour) nobody came around to clean off the tables. When we went to leave all but 2 tables were clean for customers to eat at. The only positive I could say was I did find the staff to be friendly this time around. Other times I've went to go pick up food the staff were in the back talking and not paying attention to the front desk so I had to wait for someone to notice me. Also, every take out I ordered (on several different occasions) was wrong in one way or another. Primarily forgetting...
