Anyone who rates this place higher than a 1 ⭐️ is either friends with someone who works there or is blind/deaf/dumb. The ONLY reason I bought a vehicle from this place is because they had a vehicle I once use to own and it had sentimental value and to me it’s a 1 of 1 to me but if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t deal with this dealership in the slightest! I work at a dealership currently where we bend over backwards for our customers to offer them the best buying experience possible. It’s not something I believed in at the time till I had the misfortune of dealing with this place and had it brought into perspective of how grateful I am to deal and work with the team we have at my work.
It’s difficult to pick where to start with the problems with this place but I’ll do it in list format from the jump to vehicle delivery.
The vehicle I was purchasing was being advertised as a “certified” vehicle which basically means nothing and is a way to mislead customers in my opinion and I will elaborate on that. The reason I say it’s misleading is because they will post all the vehicle’s information on the window right next to column of the benefit of a vehicle that is “certified PLUS” even though the vehicle is only “certified” not “certified plus” which is an absolutely MASSIVE difference and an attempt to mislead the customer. The reason I say it’s misleading is because the vehicle I bought was “certified” but “certified PLUS”, when I asked “Is it possible to make it certified plus? I want the benefits of it.” I was told no… so why even post/advertise about “certified PLUS” right next to the vehicles info that’s not available except to deceive your customer. I will include pictures of what I saw and let you make up your own mind (picture 1 of the window stick of the info and “certified PLUS” which isn’t available for my vehicle but clearly posted) and the second picture of the vehicle with the “certified” badge. The third picture will be of the difference between the two certifications which isn’t explained anywhere on the vehicle in hopes you don’t realize it’s not the better of the two.
The next thing is the vehicle had so many things wrong/broken with it and I know it was a used truck but to leave all the issues and not invest into correcting them just seems wrong but if that’s the way they do business so be it. Not the way I think business should be done but that just my opinion so be it.
When signing papers the finance person tried to just add a roughly $10k service contract making my original cost after trade in of $14,181 to $24k+ without even speaking about it in the hopes I would just sign it and “luckily ” for me they were offering me “employee pricing”. The finance guy kept trying to get me to sign for a while after already being told “No” to the point were I wrote huge “no” from the top of the paper to the bottom of the paper to make it clear I wasn’t buying it he still insisted. (Picture #4 of the services I declined and wasn’t offered packages but just expected to sign)
There is a lot more, I may come back an update it with more info but I am getting tired of rambling. If McCurley Subaru is your last and only option I guess go for it if you have other options please do yourself a favor and RUN towards those...
Read moreI dropped my car off for service that was covered under warranty and decided to wait around. The service completed was fine and everyone was nice in the service department for the most part, but I was dissatisfied with both the service manager and the sales associates. The service manager did not keep me apprised of how long my vehicle would take nor did she review the results of the inspection report when my service was complete. These things are minor, but are now a bigger issue due to the survey component. When I left, She just said I was all set and told me that I'd be receiving a survey and that if I didn't plan on answering all 10's, to call her so she could make things right. I received my survey and they asked questions that I realized I would have to answer "no" to, so I called her to let her know that certain things that should have taken place did not take place. Well, she basically said, "Well it's cold so we haven't been doing those, but we usually do..so if you could please answer yes to that question if you're comfortable." Uhm, no. I don't appreciate being asked to lie. Here's the thing - my service experience itself wasn't bad at all. I also didn't really care that I wasn't kept apprised of how long my vehicle would take. I was swamped with work and lost track of time anyhow. I was calling her as a courtesy because she asked me to. The fact that she asked me to lie took a good service experience and turned it sour.
Now regarding sales - we have been considering a WRX STi for our second family vehicle as our "fun" car with the Outback as our true utility vehicle for snowboarding trips, etc. While my car was in for service, I popped over to the sales showroom since my husband had told me there was an STi that he saw the last time we were in. I probably spent a good 10 minutes scoping out the car and not a single sales person came over to me to say hello or introduce themselves. I'm guessing it's because I was dressed down and looked frumpy. Perhaps they thought I wasn't a serious prospective buyer or perhaps they thought I couldn't afford one. So I walked over to a salesperson and asked if he could please provide me literature or information on the STi. It's been years since we've had a WRX and I was curious about their specs now. He said he was "all out of them", looked down at his desk, and resumed doing whatever he was doing.
Overall, this place gets a "meh". 5 stars for the service folks who are always pleasant and friendly less one star for the service manager, less two stars for the...
Read moreWe purchased a brand new vehicle in 2021 (not Subaru). After multiple recalls and an unhappy driving experience overall, we decided to do some research on cars that were dependable, safe, and overall had positive reviews from owners. That research led us to Subaru. We arrived late in the evening at the dealership. I called ahead and Taylor had the vehicles I was interested in test driving already parked in the garage for us to look at without being outside in the cold. The entire process was similar to a typical car buying experience but without pressure and stereotypical selling practices. Taylor was very accommodating, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. The MSRP was not marked up with any additional markups like "market adjustment" you might see at competing dealerships in the area. They didn't have the exact model/color we wanted on the lot but we were shown the next trim level up that was the model/color with extra features and comforts. It was exactly what we wanted and the safety and comfort features outweigh the additional cost. (If your on the fence about spending an extra $1000 or $2000 on a car that you plan on keeping for a long time to get additional features, do it. A general rule is for every $1000 you finance, it's about $20.00 a month. I can certainly give up a couple of coffees or that fast food item one or two times a month to drive something safe and comfortable.) Once we made it to loan signing, Rebeca truly helped us understand the documents we were actually signing. Anyone who has ever purchased a car knows that all the additional warranties and services are sold at this time. Rebeca gave us the facts, how much each additional add on would cost monthly, and more importantly, without any pressure. The entire process was surprisingly quick. My husband said he felt like we were treated like royalty. We never felt like we were just another sale. Most folks don't buy a new car every year, and if the car buying experience is amazing, when it comes time for a new car, most consumers stay loyal to a brand/ dealership and McCurley Subaru understands that and they stand by their brand. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, do your research. You will find that Subaru's are reliable and owners pass down these cars to their relatives or family. 96% of Subaru's sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today. That is higher than any of it's competition.
Thank you to all the McCurley team for a truly...
