This is truly a tough one to rate. For "good 'ole American 'fast food'", it's absolutely outstanding & abundant --- possibly even the best I've ever had ! Regrettably, though most of my experiences with the restaurant have been excellent, 2 of them were horrendous. In both cases, I purchased & ate the pulled pork sandwiches (with fries). They were delicious.
A few hours after ingestion, I became extremely ill - it was gastrointestinal (vomiting, cramping, muscular spasms, headache, diarrhea the works). I had no way of differentiating the source (i.e., the fry oil vs. the pork); however, it was most likely the latter. [Note: I had nothing else to eat during the preceding 24 hours.] I am a healthcare provider, & know myself to be in good health. A couple later, after the "restaurant anxiety" finally wore off, I purchased a non-pork sandwich (with fries) and had no problems.
On my next trip there, (around a month from the first illness & apprehension gone), I, again, ordered the pulled pork sandwich (with fries). Again, within several hours, the unequivocal & significant symptoms of acute foodborne illness commenced. This time I was bedridden for almost 3 days. Due to the rapid onset of symptoms, the cause wasn't parasitic & likely not E-coli. I'd think that both incidents were due to Salmonella contamination. It's difficult to peg the source (i.e., the pork supplier, poor refrigeration, unsanitary handling or preparation surfaces, etc.). However, due to the replication of illness, over such a long separation of time, it's less likely (to me) that the restaurant received the pork already contaminated. Anything's possible.
If, indeed, these were both due to human error, I would say to the owner / management: Have your employees wash their hands, utensils & preparation surfaces MUCH MORE OFTEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY ! I'm certainly not a "bug germ" about disinfecting, but twice is too much. Had this happened to a young child, an elderly adult, or someone with a compromised or weakened immune system, it could have been disastrous.
C'mon guys, be more careful ! It's your responsibility; we don't live in a "caveat emptor" world. Plus, your food is too good to catch this...
Read moreHad a cheeseburger and small fries. They must have a magic grill that gives the burger and the bun a deep, smoky flavor. The toasted bun has thousand island dressing and the burger is piled high with leaf lettuce, onion, and tomato. A dill pickle slice or two would be nice. Huge burger and the size of the small fries was more than I could finish. Have to say, this is a drippy burger and you'll need 6 or 7 napkins to keep clean. The fries are skinny, a little over-salted, but delicious. They offer variations on the basic burger and all look good on the menu. Had their fish and chips on a previous visit. Really good too. Battered pieces of fish deep fried served with the same fries and coleslaw. All portions were generous and priced well. Two complaints: parking lot sucks and they close early most days. But, for the best fast food burger in town,...
Read moreThis place is phenomenal. Its a little hidden tucked away gem. Its on a weird shaped corner lot with a drive through coffee shop and car wash. Its kind of an unassuming place. The inside is large enough for maybe 5-6 couples or a few groups. There is outdoor seating too. The food is great. I had the Bronco Burger. It was awesome. Everything was fresh and the sauce they put on it is to die for. The onion rings are large. A few us also had the ABC burger. No complaints. This will certainly be a spot we always hit up when in Paso. Awesome burgers. The only sort of negative is the price point. Its a little higher than compared to your established burger chains. We had 4 burgers, a basket of onion rings, and a basket of fries and it was $70 out the door with tip. But I think it...
