TL;DR Delicious, authentic food; friendly and attentive service; accommodating to party size to-go orders at a great price! Will become a staple in the local community.
I ordered a party-size taco order for a baby shower, and it was a huge hit with the guests! We got 5 lbs of meat (carne asada and carnitas), prepared tortillas, onions and cilantro, medium and hot salsas, and an order of veggie fajitas tacos for the resident vegan. The order also came with a tray of refried beans and a tray of rice. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. The price was very comparable to other local options, if not better! Highly recommend ordering from here for your next big event!! The service was also incredible. I was very impressed because it was only their second week of soft-opening. When I called to order, I was informed that this was their first time accommodating a large order but they were very willing to work with me to tailor the order to my exact needs. Upon arrival for pick up, the staff was friendly. I came a little early, and they ensured I was comfortable and attended to during my wait. I came alone so they even helped load up my car. Huge props to this team for excelling in their first large order. I walked away super satisfied and my guests were excited to hear about this new option in town! They will all be coming back here to eat, and I will definitely pick this spot anytime I‘m in town and for any future party needs. I seriously can‘t emphasize enough how impressed all of my guests and I were at how incredible this food and large order were, especially considering they’re still in their soft open phase. Seemed like a fully established restaurant to all of us. 100% expect this place to become a...
Read moreTL;DR: Well-seasoned food. Went on a Thursday around 12:45PM. The tables inside were full, leaving the counter to sit. A few people standing around waiting for orders to go. It has the feel of a fast food restaurant, not really a bar and grill. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table. The cashier was a little slow with placing the orders. I ordered the Street Taco Entree, which includes 3 tacos of your choice, pinto beans or black beans and Mexican rice. Because chips and salsa are not complimentary, I ordered a side ($4). For choice of meat, I ordered 1 each of the al pastor, carne asada and birria. Wait is a little long and chips and salsa didn't come until the food did. Would have been nice to have upfront. The street tacos are just that, on the small side. My carne asada taco was seasoned well and moist. The al pastor was a little light in flavor. I would have guessed it was al pastor. I was expecting the birria taco to come fried in the stew's oil and cheesy, but it wasn't. It's more like a barbacoa taco. All said I was happy with it. The black beans were well-seasoned and delicious. Many restaurants that serve black beans just don't season them well or cook properly. These were delicious. The Mexican rice was spot on and delicious as well, again well-seasoned. The grains of rice were split, like what you should see in well-prepared Mexican rice. The chips were delicious and had a great crunch. The salsa served in the terracota cazuela was room temp, making it a bit unpleasant. Overall I was happy. ...
Read moreWe had just come into town and were looking for something "close" to our hotel. Google turned up with Off the 46 Mexican Bar & Grill and it was one of the most pleasant surprises we have ever had from a Google recommendation. Terrific service! Being newbies, we asked for recommendations and the owner suggested the Three Taco plates (it was Taco Tuesday, after all), and we just said "yes" to his suggestions. Very generous chips and salsa, and the three street tacos were the perfect size. All selections were excellent, and the service was friendly and first rate. The only "knock" if you will is that it is a narrow bar and grill with limited seating. None the less the next time we come to Paso we will be heading up the road to the Off the 46 Mexican...
