The Lighthouse Cafe — Restaurant in Passaic

At a time when I couldn’t even think straight due to the death of a dear friend, Luzi, with Lighthouse Cafe in Passaic, New Jersey came to my rescue. It was extremely important to me to be able to provide at least one meal for the family of the deceased during this time of mourning. As I and my husband are living in Houston, my task was to find a restaurant that would cover all the family’s needs more than a thousand miles away. That said, I was given the name of the restaurant, and the rest just worked perfectly. I spoke with Luzi in catering, and he assisted me in putting together a dairy luncheon, complete with iced coffee, salads, roasted vegetables, blintzes, bread, and all needed serving ware. Though he may see it as simply part of his job, to me Luzi and The Lighthouse Cafe completed a true mitzvah❣️ In these crazy times it’s so wonderful to know that there are still good, trustworthy, people out there. My kids love the pizza here but I was immensely upset today as I walked in to find 2 customers at the counter with no masks on as required by law. When I asked the young man in charge “isn’t everyone supposed to be wearing masks” he replied yes. I then asked “why aren’t those 2 customers wearing one”? He simply shrugged his shoulders. Really?? I had to personally ask the guy not wearing a mask if he could move away from me while I ordered. He initially responded that he was a safe distance from me and when I told him “I don’t care what you think is safe, it’s the law that you have to wear a mask” He then left the store and the lady who I presume was his wife put on a mask she had in her pocket the whole time.

I shouldn’t have had to do that as it is supposed to be the responsibility of the management to enforce these things NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE!! I was livid because this virus is serious and people need to follow the restrictions put in place. What makes it even more crazy is that the lady not wearing a mask was pregnant!! I mean...

The lighthouse Cafe is what North Jersey has been waiting for!! The Pizza is hands down the best tasting pizza I've had in a long time, combined with the beautiful and spacious area right above Aisle one makes it something really special, not only the pizza but the pasta's and soup were absolutely delicious, everything was freshly made on the spot, piping hot pizza and delicious French onion soup left its mark on me. As a customer I am always sensitive to the customer service, this establishment personifies of how a customer should be treated, you can feel that there is a special emphasis on making sure everyone who walks in to the shop should leave happier than when they walked in.
