Deli DJ — Restaurant in Paterson

My butter roll came back just a little too crispy. I guess because I asked for it toasted instead of plain heated. But they've got the absolute best chicken empanadas I've tasted in my life. These empanadas are soft and flavorful and will make you slap your abuelo. Awesome customer service, very polite dudes. Solid business 👌🏾

Edit: I'm removing a star because of my recent trip there. I got two of their chicken empanadas. They looked off, but I trusted the business so I thought they were fine. The empanadas were really bad. So bad I had to leave work to return to the store and bring them back, having bit them both once. On the positive side, the guy was very understanding and quick to give me a refund no problem. But he also seemed very dismissive and didn't hear me out about the empanadas. I wasn't angry or anything, I usually love their empanadas. But I just didn't leave there feeling satisfied after that interaction. I wish them well but that's probably my last time...

10/27/24 I went to dj deli and usually get the empanadas but decided to get a breakfast sandwich. I asked for turkey bacon eggwhites and cheese and got a sandwich that look like it was smothered in gravy! Eggwhites were brown and covered in the same fluid and the bread was soggy and drenched in brown fluid. I should have taken a pic but threw it away immediately out of disgust!!! I am a former corporate chef so I know all about food and that sandwich was cooking on a nasty dirty grill! If I didn't live across town I would of brung it back and threw it across the counter. Ill stick to what I know if I even ho there again. And if dj deli reading this post CLEAN YOUR GRILL AND KEEP IT CLEAN FOR...

This place blew me away. The food was great and the portions are great too you’re paying for quality. On top of the great food you’re being greeted by amazing staff. My friend told me about this spot and before telling me anything about the food he told me about the people who work there. When I walked in I was treated as a friend not a customer I felt very welcomed. I could tell this staff member puts people first and respects everyone.
