El Mexicano — Restaurant in Paterson

Nice music, very good food but the place its self is not safe, even they have security service they allow any kind of people, had a bad experience last Friday, went with my friend to have a nice time and a junkie stole my purse from my table, I ask the manager who is the owner's son to please allow the police to see the cameras and they refuse to help me, I was calling the place the next Saturday and Sunday and nobody were able to help. bottom line I end up loosing about $400 cash and my new cell phone just because the owners of the Mexican Restaurant refuse to help me with the cameras which they have all over the place. This restaurant and bar has the worst customer service ever. Have been here for lunch, dinner and also night time events. Although the atmosphere is good with great music the staff looks like they all hate their jobs. My boyfriend and I just walked in and stood at the door, the 2 girls at the bar looked at us as if we were crazy so we sat ourselves. We waited about 10 minutes and were never even acknowledged. Went here last night for 5 de mayo and to support local business in paterson. They already added 18% gratuity to the bill as my bill was 121.00 I gave $130.00 the waiter never gave us back the change.
