SLOPPY WORK!!!! I do not recommend this place!
I do not recommend this bakery!! I picked up the cake I ordered for my son’s 30th bday, upon arriving the girl hands me the cake and immediately I noticed the cake is not the color I ordered (which they had a picture of) the cake was sky blue instead of royal blue. I was asked to wait 15 min for them to correct.
After a little over 30+ min they bring the cake out that looked horrible. They then forgot to write the wording on the base of the cake which she then takes the cake back to do that. Clearly the bakery does not have ANYONE that does quality check on the cakes ordered prior to pick up.
The royal blue color was slapped on top of the sky blue color that was first put on. When eating the cake all my guests mouth turned blue along with our hands, disgusting! This was not a little kids bday, grown adults had blue mouths where they couldn’t finish eating a cake that I was charged for. They swore that this is the way color is mixed by seeing a layer of white, then sky blue then their version of royal blue!
They fondant accents were leaning and eventually flapped over by the time my son cut his cake, the frosting was horrible and melting alongside of the cake onto the base board. After calling, Grini's Bakery the original woman that took my order kept defending the fact that she told me I would be getting a cake as I did, ABSOLUTLY NOT!!!! Why would ANYONE pay for a cake as such.
To add insult to injury a woman named Isabelle got on the phone to only translate what the other woman was saying in Spanish, which was the same thing I already heard. Whoever Isabelle was she nothing but sarcastic, asked me “what do you want us to do”? The ignorance and unprofessional attitude was disrespectful.
They charged for every little addition, including the disgusting FOOD COLORING used to color easter eggs!
My order was poorly executed to say the very least. It...
Read moreWell, i should start saying that I've been ordering cakes from this bakery for more than 10 years. The product is not in question, but the service and delivery of the product. In three different occasions, and with balance paid off from the bill, I've been told that my order was not found, to wait longer because cake was not completed, and the latest incident to pick a cake with no decoration. When I spoke to a employee, the first thing suggested was to bring back the cake so they could finish it. Now, after going back and forth, they credit $20 for the inconvenience (not completed job). I am not expecting an apology at this time, but to let future customers to be aware , again the product is good but not worth having the nightmare to be told your order was not found, or to wait for a cake that should've been ready at the assigned time. SHOW RESPECT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. If you looking for alternatives as I'm doing after this experience. Ozzy's Cake, Mary's Cake, Shoprite- little falls, Chsntilly, Giancarella- Wayne. I support businesses that give the customers respect with their time and money.
NOTE: On response to you Ashley, the best thing is that you better the costumer service and respect the paid orders. I'm giving you business because regardless to numerous occasions you guys failed to complete the orders on time. My advise to you and the owner is that if you don't take care of your regular costumes, we are taking our money somewhere else. Bakeries are not the problem, so just do better period. Repect our pick...
Read moreOn March 20, at approximately 11:05 AM, my sister and I visited Grinis to place an order for a 1lb birthday cake. My sister paid half of the total cost upfront, and we also purchased two slices of cake. From the moment we walked in, we noticed a strong chemical cleaner smell in the bakery, which was extremely off-putting. To make matters worse, the cake slices we purchased were dry and clearly not fresh, which was already disappointing.
Shortly after placing the order, we contacted our other sister—the intended recipient of the cake—only to find out she had already ordered one. At 11:29 AM, just minutes later, we called Grinis to cancel our order. To our surprise, we were informed that they would not refund the amount we had paid, despite the fact that there is no cancellation or refund policy stated anywhere on their website. Instead, they only provided their cancellation policy after we had already made the payment—an absurd and deceptive practice.
Beyond their lack of transparency, their pricing is outrageous—$97 for a simple round cake. While we were ultimately given store credit for the $47 we had paid, it is completely unreasonable and unethical to refuse a refund for an order canceled almost immediately. This experience has made it abundantly clear that we will never be purchasing from this bakery again. Their lack of customer service, poor business practices, overpriced subpar products, and uninviting atmosphere make them entirely undeserving of...
